Shouldn't elton be added to this list? The sources seem pretty confident
Confident source does not = confirmation
What I mean is, the inner circle on here has been talking to someone who's been right before, and says elton will be there. The headliner thread just spent 6 hours arguing over the logistics of this, I don't wanna get into it if it doesn't count.
What exactly is the Elton story/source? I don't want to wade into that radioactive sewage to find out.
Many high-up people on here have been PM'd by a very credible source, who said Elton John will be at Roo. He/She didn't want to be named, but major users are certain this source is credible. May or may not be true, just like many artists on this confirmed list. I'm just wondering if that's enough information to be on that list, perhaps quasi-confirmed.

That, or give them a late night tent and 3+ hours for some guests. It could be like the epic Gov't Mule 2007 late night set.
I don't have enough faith in Bonnaroo for a latenight, but I completely agree. Them and any combination of Booker T, Betty LaVette, Brittany Howard, Jason Isbell(!), or many of their other friends would be amazing.
That recent Booker T CD makes me want an epic Booker T late night with guests (possibly even a Booker T SuperJam?)

I was actually thinking about how great a Stax Records superjam led by Booker T. and whoever else he recruited would be a few weeks ago, but it feels just a bit similar to last years super jam.

Except not almost exclusively white people
Um are you trying to make controversy? Were you actually at the show, or close enough to see the stage? Because I'm pretty sure you wouldn't say that if you were.

Looks like you realized you were wrong
We get it bacon. You were catching Jim James' sweat. But ya... I wouldn't mind having a similar SuperJam. The past two years were already fairly similar.
Also, can we move the One Big Holiday or MMJ discussion to the thread where it belongs. I'm tired of seeing that bull shit every time I check this damn thread

I feel like they always need at least one rocking band to balance out all the bleep bloops and hip hop. DBT could put on a great show but I'm not going to be expecting a late night. Just would be awesome.
That would be amazing. I've always wondered why they've been saddled with afternoon sets (often early) when they put on such a fantastic live show and are very much built for playing when it's dark outside.
Though their live shows have taken a huge hit with the departure of Neff, they're pretty much conflict-proof for me.
Makes a lot of sense. After playing every other year or more they haven't been back since 09. I would like to see them not get shafted with a daytime which set this time. A sunset tent slot would be great.

They could also just invite the Hold Steady along and play back to back shows and reunite the "Rock And Roll Means Well Tour" from a few years ago. One of the best shows I've ever seen.

Heard back from The Knife and Iron and Wine. Nothing too groundbreaking. I asked if they would be playing any Atlanta shows or Bonnaroo and I got "Keep checking The Knife's website…the band's plans will be revealed soon." and from I&W: "Thanks for the note. We hope to be through the region sometime in the coming months. Keep an eye on the website and thanks for writing!" Take that as you will.

That provides absolutely no insight
Man not everything needs to have insight, the post makes no claim of providing insight they're just saying the response they heard. Also while this means nothing some acts do outright deny playing Bonnaroo so its not completely irrelevant.

It at least lets others know those bands have been contacted so noone continues to spam them.
Good thing people cn;t lie on the internet... well I like to think they cant Cherub Confirmed ?
I hope this is true. I saw Cherub at the miller lite lounge in '12 and would love to have them back. I really don't remember much from that show (had been raging for a couple of days by that point) but I do remember they had the hardest hitting bass out of every show I saw that year.

I kind of feel like Roo should have set an earlier announce date this year will all these May-June festivals doing lineup drops and pre sales already.. Surprised they're dropping so late.
