I'm a very open-minded person when it comes to music and like to experience different types of music festivals to take it all in.
However, this year I'm super bummed that OutKast is headlining (so far) almost every single festival I have gone to or are planning on going to.
What's the deal? I mean, I get they were famous and innovative, but I don't think they are groundbreaking enough to be a headliner.
I'm not hating on the idea of them being at festivals... but taking up that spot? At every single festival?
I really think this takes away from the uniqueness and diversity of festivals around the country. This year will be my third Bonnaroo and I'm going regardless of the headliners/lineup, I'm just hoping they don't throw OutKast as a headliner.
While I think I would enjoy seeing Lady Gaga at Bonnaroo, I can understand while people think she wouldn't be a good fit, though I have a hard time articulating it. Her music is very poppy, which doesn't rule her out, but it's to an extent that seems to conflict with the general vibe that I get from Bonnaroo. Her music is very glamorous and somewhat superficial, and while I do think a very large part of the Bonnaroo audience would enjoy a set by her (definitely enough to make it worth booking her), the image that I get when I think of Lady Gaga fans is not the same image that I get when I think of people who go to Bonnaroo (obviously I'm speaking in broad stereotypes - Bonnaroo is for everyone, but certain types of people do appear at fests in larger numbers than in everyday life). When I think of festivals, I think of hippies, bros, and rock music fans (is there a word for that?). Lady Gaga makes me think of more mainstream pop music fans. As much as I love Gaga, I feel like her demographic is closer to the Beiber and Britney fans than the Radiohead, Mumford, and Phish fans.
I almost ruined it myself last year by proceeding to drive a bad ass knife through my finger while setting up camp now some might say it is right proper to skip beer and go directly to lidocaine injections in the medical tent under a Dr.s care of course in less then an hours time of being at Bonnaroo (being to lazy to do that to yourself yes there are those types of people out there) I say nay and enough with that shiz. I will post the aftermath for all to see and witness finally the real reason I never made it to brunch last year feast your eyes turn yo' stomachs and prepare for the picture you are about to view.

The people who focus on negative things/a ruiner instead of taking in the beautiful festival
Seriously, I am not sure which way you are going with that comment.
Just saying that we should stop making threads like this and stop focusing on "who will ruin bonnaroo". Whether it's a kind of person or certain artist, the festival is beautiful regardless and we should just enjoy our short time there.

To put in a more helpful manner than the rest of these ruffians, threads such as this one started a year or two ago as a method to satirize the people that come here every year lamenting how a certain band (or lack of a certain band/genre) will cause the entire festival to be horrible since the idea of that is inherently ridiculous.
