used to not really have interest. the best feature really i think is that it's a very easy way to send 10 sec video clips. along with pics/videos of all the other stupid/funny/awesome shit you see in the world on a day to day basis

It was originally created as a sexting app. You take a photo or video and it only lasts 10 secs at the most and then disappears for forever. Problem is, with anything having to do with computers, its all 0's and 1's and nothing is deleted for forever. Parents found out about it, it was a big stink and then found its popularity in hilarity. Silly, stupid, fun, interesting or whatever photos that you can put on your daily story for 24 hrs or send to individuals of your choosing. I love snapchat.

I disagree. It was not created for that purpose. People were WORRIED that it was being used mainly as a sexting app, but it was proven untrue. I read about a study at some point that only a reeeallly small percentage used it for that purpose. Now, what you use it for... I can't see all your snaps
EDIT: Here's an article about the study. It says only 1.4% use Snapchat for regular sexting and only 14% says that have at some point sent a sexy through it.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I disagree. It was not created for that purpose. People were WORRIED that it was being used mainly as a sexting app, but it was proven untrue. I read about a study at some point that only a reeeallly small percentage used it for that purpose. Now, what you use it for... I can't see all your snaps
Using it for that purpose with the feeling that the nudie will be gone forever is silly, though. Someone could just screencapture the image with their phone. I'd hope there is some sort of setting that blocks that or notifies you if someone does it.

true. most of the inforoo people send snaps from concerts they're attending and that's nice. or lots of snow/temp pictures. I do like silly faces though, those are the best.

when it first came out, you couldn't screen capture. With each update it would alternate. bonzai, I am a mom and I promise you, when it first came out it was a sexting app for teenagers. I found it on my son's and one of my bff's son's phone. When confronted, they both said, "I can't help it if those girls want to send that to me." The girls were sending pics to boys because they thought it was "safe."
The funny thing about snapchat, when it first came out, one of my girlfriends made us all download it. I thought it was stupid. Who wanted a photo to disappear, it wasn't until I found it on my son's phone that I did become concerned, and that was almost 2 years ago.
Even if the research didn't include enough sexting teenagers or people didn't admit their true intent for the app, it still wasn't created FOR sexting. At least not that the creators have admitted.
