Just out of curiosity - why do we have to go through this process to see "fuck" instead of "quack?" To protect the children?
It's an old thing that we had on the forum that was put into place by the previous owner. A few different reasons were given. A little while ago, under new ownership, we had requests to remove it but a lot of long time members who enjoyed it and wanted to keep it spoke up as well. So now we give people the option to keep it or get rid of it. The filtered words would change over time and people used to like to suggest new terms and stuff like that.
Just out of curiosity - why do we have to go through this process to see "fuck" instead of "quack?" To protect the children?
It is an easy process for those that have an issue with the word filter. Some grew accustom to the word filter, like myself, and do not see it as a big deal. It makes me laugh from time to time. ( it is a holdover from the early days) Others wanted it gone, so we compromised.
