Lots of great albums were released today. It's nice to see so many of you didn't let that bother you and just went ahead and voted.
Aside from New Pornographers what was released that is legitimately a good album and hasn't been leaked and available for listening all month?
In his world, we all should have went down to the record store on Tuesday, asked the clerk for his recommendation, and brought home a copy of Merchandise. Then had our minds blown while we shook our hips and made dinner to the album spinning on the record player as we made dinner with our loved ones.

I don't cook.
And Merchandise, while good, is not AOTM in my opinion.
Even if you don't like it, you have to at least acknowledge how good of tracks Heavenly Father and Solioquy are.
2nd and 3rd verses on Heavenly Father are the best verses this year. I'd even say best in recent years as well.
Um. No. This is the kind of shit that teenagers think is "deep" and wind up quoting on their Twitter. Shallow, sophomoric, and a blatant attempt at making an "important" song. Even going beyond the puerile lyrical content, it's not as if he's putting on some dextrous lyrical display. The rhyme scheme is simple and uninspiring. If you think this represents "the best verses this year" or in "recent years as well," then I'd suggest you really need to start listening to more hip-hop, because this is bland as fuck.

These are all the albums worth checking out this month, the starred ones came out yesterday.

Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

I think more mainstream stuff like Metallica, Iron Maiden, etc. is still considered uncouth drivel for the masses.
Ever wonder who’s atop Coachella’s wishlist? As Billboard reports, festival organizers answered that question during a press conference aboard the inaugural Coachella Cruise, specifically naming David Bowie, Talking Heads, The Smiths, and Iron Maiden.
Saying Iron Maiden is a hipster band because they *could* play Coachella is on par with saying Metallica is a hippie band because they played Bonnaroo.

I'm just saying they're not uncouth. When big, taste-making music festivals want to book an act, that means something.

Every one of these has been available in some way since at least last week, except Ariana Grande (but was still before the release date).

I mean, I was just kidding around about the voting thing. But even so, no matter when these came out, that's a shitload of albums to get through this month.

I thought you were yelling at me.
Having a shitload of albums to go through is why think this year kicks so much ass.

Naw, just goofin.
I think there were more albums I was into this month than the rest of the year combined. I forgot to put Bear in Heaven on that list, which was also great.
