I was just curious, before I waste my time and more importantly money on one of my favorite excursions. If I received a citation last Bonnaroo outside the gate, but for whatever reason I wasn't able to pay it will I still be able to go to the festivities this year? I realize that I'd have to not cause much attention to myself that's why me and the passengers in my car will be completely clean but I'm just wondering if my i.d. will be ran through the system for whatever reason or when I buy my ticket my name will come up in some sort of Tennessee law data base. I'm no outlaw or anything but I still really worried about going to jail at the gate cause I didn't pay my citation. Please Help... I'm waiting on this info to decide if I want to go. Bonnaroo is amazing. I don't want to miss it.
I'm driving from Philadelphia. I've gone two other times and trust me, we are very careful with how we look in our car and drive. We never go past the speed limit for anything. Should i get some one to buy my ticket in their name though? Does that really matter?
Honestly man I realize that. I'm just really freaked out about risking anything since it's like a 14 hour drive there, not to mention the money that goes in to it. I dont want to get all the way there to get put in jail. Just want to tie up all lose ends.

Well it depends did they fingerprint you in jail? Bonnaroo now runs the fingerprints of all attendees through VICAP to see if anyone has any bench warrants out.

So you received a ticket from the police not anything from Bonnaroo right? There would be nothing that on the Bonnaroo side that connects you to that. It should have zero impact on your entry into the fest (unless you have a warrant in the state and get pulled over)
Bonnaroo would not know or care if you were Charlie Manson on the run. Or if you name matches your ticket. Or if you have outstanding warrants in 50 states and 12 countries, as long as you do not bring in glass bottles.
The TN cops, on the other hand, do care, and care a lot. No contact, no problem.
Slightly OT: there was a dude on the Lockn board last year who was totally paranoid about the organizers tracking him with RFID. Like anyone cared about him and where he was. He knew this to be a fact, and I think he also was concerned about drones. Turns out Lockn didn't even use RFID bracelets. Can you imagine being camped next to someone like that? FML.

There were similar thoughts about the RFID on this board.

don't pay that ticket! and when you show up at the gates when they ask you to open your car just start screaming incoherently and gesticulating wildly. they can't tell you not to bring glass in the bonnaroo!! they don't even know who you are, you don't need to calm down they are the ones in need to calm down, you don't have a problem what is there problem not opening my car this is America
The citation was for 2000$.. that's why I havent been able to pay it. It was outside the gate before you go in... You can piece together what happened here. Let's just say I trusted the wrong guy. Now i'm saying if I go down with NO glass/or NO illegal substances should I have anything to worry?... I mean they don't scan i.d.'s. I should be good though?

Is this real life!?
Listen to me. You need to be a responsible adult and pay your fucking ticket. If you can't/wont do that then you shouldn't be spending the money to go down to Bonnaroo. I only live about 4-5 hours away from The Farm and the total trip runs me about $2000 every year (tix, gas, supplies, groceries, etc).
Now, if you choose to ignore your responsibilities and go to 'Roo nothing is going to happen to you unless you happen to get pulled over and they run your ID. You probably want to call the county where your ticket was issued (I assume Coffee County?) and see if there is a warrant out for your unpaid ticket at the very least.
Thanks KDHarvey. It was Coffee County. I come from Philadelphia and it didnt cost me anywhere near 2000$ to go and have a good time. I do the whole thing for 800 or less. I know i'm irresponsible about paying the citation but they wanted it in one lump some. It actually said on the citation in big bold letters NO PAYMENT PLANS. But guys come on, it's Bonnaroo.. I can't not go. I'll just hide my i.d. in my butt.

Doesn't refusing to accept payments void the contract that is created when you sign the ticket? I may be wrong but I think that's the case in some states. I just think the first step is to call Coffee County and tell them that you were unable to pay that amount in one lump sum and ask what the options are. Either way, if you're going to 'Roo just be responsible on your way down and don't attempt to hide your ID if you do get stopped bc they'll just detain you until they can verify your identity.
