Not sure if been mentioned, but I'm thinking Outkast is the band for this clue. It fits all three parts: ie you wear glasses you were a social outcast (not sure how it is today); in the book The Shining, Jack Torrance is an outcast due to his temper and alcoholism plus being the only people in a large hotel during the winter can also be viewed as cast out; and third, OutKast is intentionally misspelled, along with Steven King.
Stephen King's "The Shining" has been made into a movie. Twice.
The second iteration starred SteVen Weber, who was best known for his roles on TV, primarily in "Wings." Wings is a band, which features Paul McCartney ... and Denny Laine. Laine was also in a band featuring the color of the glasses.

Neutral Milk Hotel
1. KING of Carrot Flowers (Stephen King) 2. In the Aeroplane Over the SEA (glasses = see) 3. Neutral Milk HOTEL (Hotel = The Shining) 4. "Clue has 3 parts" (King of Carrot Flowers 1-3) 5. NEUTRAL Milk Hotel (No pH = Neutral)

Well that looks familiar.
Yeah, that was all you, and I'm hoping you're right!

Ah, if it isn't my old friend the 5 part answer to the 3 part clue.

There are three parts to this clue. Let's break each of them down one by one:
First of all, the (sic). Stephen King writes horror novels, and on the *Human After All: Remixes* compilation, there's a remix entitled "The Brainwasher (Erol Alkan's Horrorhouse dub). 'Steven King' is a red herring: what is (sic) referring to? The fact that this 'Horror' song wasn't actually technically composed by Daft Punk...but it's still attributed to them. There's your first part, right there.
Let's move on then to part two: the glasses. You may thinking, "this dude is going to connect glasses to a pair of fucking robots who don't even presumably use eyewear? man, this joke is getting stale." Well, you'd be absolutely right, but the joke's also on you because I can't control the fact that AC Entertainment and Superfly interns keep on giving these clues the same answer. Anyway! In *Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem*, the film accompanying their 2001 album *Discovery*, there's a fictional band present called [The Crescendolls](http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/204/2/3/Crescendolls_by_daikikun75.png), who are manipulated by mind control glasses (as you can see in the picture). As you may notice, the colors of the glasses all differ. But! The Crescendolls, before arriving to Earth, all have [blue skin](http://ghostlightning.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/interstella-5555-crescendolls-blue-ver.jpg). Part 2 connects the clue to Discovery.
Part three. Notice the text of the book says The Shining. Notice the background is red. These less obvious background clues coalesce to indicate something that is red and shining...what else is ready and shiny? How about the Daft Punk logo on the cover of their 1997 debut album, [Homework](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/9c/Daftpunk-homework.jpg)?
So, we have three connections to all of Daft Punk's first three albums. Of course, Daft Punk has four albums, but the absence of *Random Access Memories* in this clue doesn't affect the answer. Remember, Daft Punk have said that [when they tour next, they want to add the songs from that album to their repertoire](http://metro.co.uk/2013/05/15/daft-punk-its-not-really-possible-to-tour-random-access-memories-3759675/). This clue is only a reminder that all of Daft Punk's songs are parts of their overall show. The three albums lead to the fourth, which is what they'll be touring. So, for now, for always: Daft Punk confirmed. again.
Stolen from reddit this guy does these for every clue it's pretty funny I think
The greater the pH, the greater the "base" or in Skrillex's case, the "bass." As we know, people of the dubstep genre often "drop the bass." His biggest song is called Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, going along with the horror genre of the novel. He wears those exact glasses. Plus I think he's playing Coachella.

Just another thing to add on the pile for Elton John. I found this small time article written on Stephen King's book Wolves of The Calla where the author continually writes "Steven King." (SIC) means as it was written.
The song Someone Saved my Life Tonight is often mentioned by a character in the book. And as someone has mentioned, the glasses.. obvious

I suck at these clues and will probably regret posting in here.... but, someone on instagram mentioned Bright Eyes. Which almost seems too obvious. The band has three members, if you want to make it fit the "three parts". I can't make it fit the misspelling though. Conor Oberst is playing the Hangout and Shaky Knees fests, solo, and I can't find any evidence that Bright Eyes is touring, but I think it's worth considering for this clue.
