So in preparation for the upcoming lineup announcement I went through the lineups of all the previous years and wrote down all the ones I've seen (yeah I've been to every Bonnaroo, started when I was 19 and plan to at least go this year at age 31...I know eventually I won't/won't be able to go but I dread the day). I only listed each band once, each for the first time I saw them, e.g. of course I saw Kings of Leon in '10, MMJ in '11, Radiohead in '12 and Petty last year but only listed them for the first time I saw them; I also listed bands I'd already seen elsewhere prior to their 'Roo show. These are only the shows I saw either all of or at least a major portion of. I have to say, even I am impressed by this list. What about the rest of y'all?

reading a list like this really puts into perspective
1) the diversity of one festival 2) the opportunities a this fest provides 3) why people continue to back
since i've only been to one roo, so i will not make my list just because there is only one year to go off of. but if i were to make a list of all the people i've seen from all the fests i've been too it wouldn't be nearly as impressive is yours still...
Making this list really makes you realize how many artists you get to see in any given year for only 250 bucks.....turns out to be like 10-15 bucks a show.
I only put down artists who I saw at least 4 songs of.

I say all the time that Roo has made me cheap. I'm not dropping big cash for one artist anymore.

I could still be persuaded to drop big bucks on a single show, but it'd have to be someone I'm dyin' to see and might not have the chance again if it were to present itself. That said, I agree. 'Roo has spoiled me. I can see big acts that would charge close to $300 fer good seats and a bunch of other musicians fer the same price. Plus the campgrounds and overall environment.
I'd have to look at the schedules to check every musician I've seen on The Farm.

I kind of liked doing my own thing for a few shows) Jason Isbell R. Kelly (I went more jokingly, haven't listened to him since I was a teenager. It turned out to be one of my favorite shows that weekend) John Oates (Solar) Empire of the Sun (Was really close to the front, but got paranoid from "stuff" when I turned around and saw a sea of people behind me. I started freaking out about "what if I start freaking out in this crowd, how am I going to get out", so I sat down at the back of the crowd to watch it. Such a stupid situation)
I missed so many shows I wanted to see last year, but I had a hell of a time just walking around exploring and meeting people.

Radiohead got me to Bonnaroo for the first time in 2012, and I swore I would never miss it again. The experience transcends whatever the lineup is.
2012: Thursday Both me and my partners first Roo, did not see one act this day. My biggest regret was somehow missing both Alabama Shakes and Big Gigantic
Friday The Kooks Tune-Yards Sam Bush Punch Brothers on the Sonic Stage (one of my favorite moments of 2012 Bonnaroo was watching this set) The Avett Brothers Dawes Radiohead
I am okay with how this day turned out. The Tune Yards show was my second favorite show of the whole weekend, and Radiohead was my first. If I were to redo it I would probably get closer for Radiohead, but that would have meant missing Dawes, who were spectacular. Going back to camp after Radiohead and missing Umphrey's is my biggest regret now, but I hadn't even heard of them at the time.
Saturday Blind Pilot Punch Brothers Santigold
Yep, that is it. I blame a lot of things for this wasted day, but a combination of two things. My partner was not well equipped for a festival, and it was my first roo. I was exhausted at this point, and spent most of this day sleeping. It is hard to admit to people that I missed RHCP, skrillex and the Roots. I just recently started getting into Childish Gambino. What a mistake it was missing him.
Sunday Gary Clark Jr. Beach Boys Bon Iver The last bit of the Shins
I was content with this day, for the most part. We left immediately after The Shins and missed out on Phish, but that was just as much my decision as it was hers. We were both exhausted and wanted to beat the traffic. Let me mention this was my first festival, period.
Overall I would say it was worth it, I missed a lot, but I was able to get some experience and that paid off when I went with my best friend in 2013. It was his first time going, so I was really able to make sure he avoided many of the mistakes I made.
2013
Thursday JD McPherson Father John Misty
Another short Thursday, but there were some reasons for that. My biggest regret from this weekend may have been leaving 'That Tent' after JD McPherson and going back to camp. If I would have camped out there all day I would have seen Haim, Django Django and FJM all from the front of the tent.
Friday He's my Brother She's my Sister Passion Pit Wilco Paul McCartney Animal Collective (Listened to Animal Collective as I watched Pretty Lights)
In regards to scheduling conflicts this was by far the worse day for me, but the decision wasn't hard. If I had to do a Mount Rushmore of bands it would be The Beatles, Radiohead, whoever Neil Young is playing with, and Wilco. So waiting at the What Stage and seeing Wilco and McCartney was an easy decision. But I made sacrifices doing it, missing Of Monsters and Men, Grizzly Bear, Wu Tang, and Jim James. If I could do it over again I would have headed straight to This Tent after McCartney. Both friends I was with went to camp after McCartney so I kind of just wandered til round about 130 when I made my way to see Animal Collective. I had a spot outside the tent, so all I did was listen and watch Pretty Lights. After Animal Collective was over I noticed the Porta Johns had just been cleaned so I sat in one of those for about halfr an hour, and listened to Pretty Lights. I could hear it great.
Saturday
Gov't Mule Nas Bjork Jack Johnson A little R Kelly and a lot of Superjam
This should have been the easiest day for me. Nas Bjork and Mumford and Sons were all in my top 5 must see acts of the weekend so it was set up perfectly. Up to that point, and up to this point I have never listened to Jack Johnson. But I was so close after Bjork I decided I might as well stay there and see what he was all about. I did enjoy the show, but that time would have been better spent waiting for superjam. I wish I could have seen the Lumineers, but Bjork's show may have been the funnest hour and a half of my life
Sunday Ed Sharpe Ed Helms Bluegrass Situation Tom Petty
St. Vincent and David Byrne Vs. Ed Helms' Superjam was a tough decision. I ultimately chose the Bluegrass situation not only because I love bluegrass, but because I thought this would be a one time experience. Had I known he would be doing it again this year, I would have stayed at the Which Stage, no doubt.
I feel a lot more prepared this year, but I am dreading the schedules. I've made sure to check out a lot more of the artists this year, and I have become a fan of a lot of new bands because of this. So I am in even more trouble than the past two years.
2012 The Cave Singers The Kooks Tune-Yards Fitz & the Tantrums Feist Foster the People Radiohead The Temper Trap Santigold ?uestlove Superjam Skrillex Grouplove Kathleen Edwards Ben Folds Five Bon Iver The Shins Bethesda Phish
2013 ON an ON Ariel Pink HAIM Purity Ring Father John Misty Local Natives Passion Pit He's My Brother She's My Sister Foals Jim James Paul McCartney Cults Solange Dirty Projectors Beach House Preservation Hall Jazz Band Jim James Superjam Lee Fields & the Expressions Aoife O'Donovan Wild Nothing Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros David Byrne & St. Vincent Ed Helms' Bluegrass Situation Superjam Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
I'm jealous--you must have been sprinting to see both Frank Turner and TMOE. That was my worst conflict last year. I was hoping they would get TMOE again this year as I watched the whole Frank Turner show. No regrets, but I really wanted to see TMOE and didn't want to split sets.
Yeah I got a little tired of TMOE (I know he's awesome but just then I needed less mellow) and a buddy of mine was raving about Frank...so glad I caught his set, "I Still Believe" has become one of my all-time favorite songs.
Well kids, thought I'd add my bands from this year (note: again, only listing bands I'd never seen at Roo before, so Jack White and Drive-by Truckers and, ahem, Kanye etc etc are not mentioned):
The Wild Feathers Banks Greensky Bluegrass St. Paul & The Broken Bones Chance The Rapper (holy shit was he good) Damon Albarn Lionel Richie Jack White (just realized he counts since he was solo) The Glitch Mob Lake Street Dive Elton MOTHERFUCKING John
As always you never really know if this Roo is your last, but this time around I'll admit I wouldn't feel too bad if it was.
2012 (Arrived mid Friday) Firday Ludacris, St. Vincent, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Radiohead, Major Lazer Saturday American Splendor (Movie), Silent Disco, Santigold, Art Vs. Science, Childish Gambino, The Roots, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice Cooper, ?uestlove Superjam, Skrillex Sunday Red Baarat, Gary Clark Jr, The Beach Boys, Ben Folds Five, Bon Iver, The Shins, The Civil Wars, fun.

i think the best band and best show i saw was The Black Cadillacs. i was sitting way back by the cafe where stage, saw them setting up didn't pay attention i was enjoying lionel. they kept doing small sound checks between his song which peaked my curiosity. once lionel was boy was i surprised by the energy they brought. i went back on saturday to see them at sonic stage saw them for bit before i went to see arctic monkeys. but i could still hear their set all the way over
