I'm going to assume that some of you are very young to not understand how big Lionel Richie is, the guy is a legend. If it were up to me he'd be billed a helluva lot higher than Kanye.

Personally, I find this lineup weak.
I love Jack White - I've seen him in every capacity. He's my number one must see on this lineup and even I don't buy him as a headliner. Maybe he's got something in the works, but if he's doing the Peacocks/Buzzards thing, I don't see it as a "headliner" style show. (Don't get me wrong, he will put on an excellent show)
Considering some of the other "high-tier" acts booking festival dates this year, I think Bonnaroo picked all the wrong ones.
I'd rather have Clapton than Elton I'd rather have Beck than Phoenix I'd rather have anyone than Skrillex I'd much rather have Outkast than Kanye
Definitely not my favorite Bonnaroo lineup. That being said, I'm sure I'll find some new stuff, rediscover some old stuff, and have a good time nonetheless; afterall, it is Bonnaroo.

Minus missing Outkast I can't say anything bad about this line-up. Top to bottom awesome. I won't even bother naming acts i wanna see....it'd be a paragraph.
Edit: and a Skrillex superjam? first electronic superjam? sweet.

I really don't like Skrillex, but
1) I can't say i didn't have a good time last time he was there 2) I'm way more excited about a bunch of EDM artists live mixing all their stuff. I will be there in a heartbeat. It's gonna be insane.
I wish there was a few more armbands but umphreys will do tedeski trucks to...
Autocorrect must have changed jambands to armbands. We also have Blackberry Smoke, White Denim , and Slightly Stoopid.
Lol yea just caught that...im excited about zzz ward too im not a big slightly stooped fan thpugh but yea its not terrible. Ill be interested to see how they layout the schedule.
I just meant in that the top couple lines are pretty loaded to the point where dual headliners make sense.
Can't disagree there! :)
The only problem with this lineup is that the large majority of these acts have been everywhere the past year or so, but that's not really their fault.
2021 08-07: Japanese Breakfast @ Union Transfer 09-08: My Morning Jacket / Brittany Howard @ The Mann 09-18: Soccer Mommy @ Union Transfer 10-01 thru 10-03: Austin City Limits Music Festival 10-19: Waxahatchee @ Union Transfer 10-27: Arlo Parks @ The Foundry 11-09: Squid @ Johnny Brenda's 11-17: Monophonics @ World Cafe Live 12-01: Caribou @ Union Transfer
For me, this is the best lineup Bonnaroo's ever had.
Agreed. Could not be more excited.
Elton John Kanye West Jack White Lionel Richie Vampire Weekend Skrillex Arctic Monkeys Frank Ocean Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Kaskade Damon Albarn Skrillex Superjam Disclosure Cut/Copy Umphrey's McGee Ice Cube Janelle Monae Chvrches Die Antwoord Mastodon Jake Bugg Yonder DBT Washed Out Sam Smith Pusha T Meshuggah Cloud Nothings Break Science Big Sam Deafheaven
Hell I'd be stoked if 5-7 of those artists were playing at any given 3 day festival. Really seems to cover a lot of genres. Rock, old white guy, hip/hop, a few different kinds of EDM (dubstep, progressive house, house), metal (3 very different metal acts in mastodon/meshuggah/deafheaven), singer songwriter, jamband-y (umphreys/yonder), R&B, nola R&B, and a variety of different subgenres i won't attempt to name that fall under the the umbrella of "indie".
Pretty psyched. Don't care about Kanye (didn't care before, don't care now, not invested in hating).
I am really, really excited for the Lauryn Hill and Ice Cube additions.
Fantastic undercard. Dr. Dog on the farm is one of my favorite things. Meshuggah is ridiculous and great.
Nobody has said Bobby Womack but he is FANTASTIC.
So my daughter (turning 10) is thrilled because basically 5 of her favorite bands of all time will be there - it's like they read her mind.
And today I learned that MY PARENTS are going to come with us too -- so three generations of my family on the farm. (And at 67, they are BEYOND THRILLED about Richie, Elton, Womack.)

I hope people do their Jack White homework and realize he is going to be the show of the weekend. He has so many ways to rise to the top. Solo album-white stripes-raconteurs-2 touring bands-he drums-he wails the guitar.

Only five lines on that whole line-up that don't contain at least one artist i wanna see right now. Much less amid the madness on the farm. And thats counting the whole line taken up by something i can't identify, lol. And considering the top/mid is so loaded. May not be everyones tastes....but Roo nailed it for me. Still bummed about Outkast tho.
Is Lauryn Hill still a trainwreck? She was awful when I saw her a few years ago.
Also, does anyone else think its funny that they signed on the premier button-pushing "dj" to host a Superjam? Has Skrillex ever mixed live in his life?
