Hey, anyone who has seen these guys recently. Are they touring as a 3-piece or have they brought along another guitarist to take Joe's place on the road?
The tour officially starts at the end of the week so hopefully there'll be word on that soon. I saw them twice, once with Joe and once without, and while both times they were great it did seem to be lacking something at the show without him.

I get into a really creepy state when I listen to No Future/No Past while looking at the Attack on Memory album cover. Especially the quiet beginning of the song. Its possible this would be more appropriate in the confessions thread.

Yeah, that's what I was curious about. I was watching some live footage and I'll be pretty bummed it Joe isn't there for Bonnaroo... Just feels off without him.
Anybody riding rail all day Thursday for this show?
You know it dude, definitely in my top 5 acts for the weekend. I'm probably going to be at "this tent" from 5pm to 2am (I have the blatter of a camel and great endurance). Every band is so good. Worth missing Real Estate for.

I had center rail for this show. With the sets leading up to it, the crowd was fairly tame. Maybe a few people crowdsurfed for Thao &TGDSD. Then Cloud Nothings happened, and everything just fucking exploded. It was non-stop mosh madness and crowd surfers like every 5 minutes. I don't think at any time I had any control over my body's orientation as it was just constantly being pinned against the rail. I'm pretty sure I would have stayed in place had I lifted both feet off of the ground. So one hand was hanging onto the rail for dear life and the other hand was violently punching the air with the lyrics or to the rhythm. I'm sure there have been plenty of sets like that at Roo before but that's the first time I ever experienced anything like that. I still get chills thinking about it.
Especially when they played I'm Not Part of Me--somebody had a "that feel" sign. "I'm not telling you all I'm going through, I FEEL FINE." And the whole pocket of us around the guy were just blowing that sign up, going nuts with it. It was a simple expression of how we felt right then.
I'm pretty sure the show messed my knee up somehow as there's now a baseball size ball of fluid on my knee. I don't give a fuck, that shit was life medicine.
Spent the whole show in the mosh pit. This show was fantastic, and also got to mosh with Jake Jortles. Best show of day 1 easily
I keep forgetting about this show since it was on thurs. I bet there will be times when I say this was the best I saw just because of how much fun it was. Couple of key moments for me were seeing my little brother mosh for the first time and it was his first roo show, having my old college roommate surprisingly show up and shove me before he literally got knocked out by and elbow, and when I tried to jump on your back that one time and failed. I was having too much fun at that point.

This was their crowd at coachella.
I'm sorry but there's a difference between the two. I had seen this vid before and was worried there wouldn't be any rowdiness at this show but boy was I wrong.
It was the first time I get involved in anything resembling a mosh pit and it was pure awesomeness. I was worried about getting knocked in the face or something, but I somehow managed to get out unscathed.

Also, there was a guy who clearly recognized me that I didn't know. Talked to you in between songs (Assumably from here) tall guy, probably in their 30's, short hair. If you read this, identify yourself

Did anyone in the pit step on someone's shoulder? That was my friend, he said the pit was crazy. I just stood off to the left of the pit and enjoyed the show

Just watched Stay Useless on the bonnaroo Xbox app, and during the solo it cuts off to the crowd and I'm in plain sight and it looks like I'm having the time of my life. Damn I want to see them live again
I love seeing people say that show was therapeutic because that's exactly what it was for me! That's the perfect way to describe it! I had only gotten to the tent like 5 minutes before they started because I had just got done seeing Hannibal Buress. The first part was just vibing out, dancing and moving around a little bit for me in the part of the crowd I was in. Which was actually really nice for the first couple songs because it gave me this super cool vibe. But after a while I saw that pit and I was like "man I need to get up there". But I didn't want to be a jerk and just push through everyone to get up further into the pit. I'm just really self conscience about that kinda stuff at festivals. But "I'm not Part of Me" came on and I couldn't take it anymore I saw my opportunity and ran right into the pit. It was like entering a whole new world. Most magical emotional releasing pit I've ever gotten into. Just that feeling of my grand entrance into the pit, pointing my finger towards the band, yelling the lyrics, and then jumping, moving, and dancing around with a bunch of strangers who would be my temporary best friends. I remember some dude towards the end just grabbed my shoulders from the front and started jumping and yelling to the music in my face so I just went with it, and we just grabbed onto each other and yelled to the music. That's why I love shows like this....you can't even come close to doing anything like that at any other type of show.
