So I was listening to "Jam On" the other day in my car and Jonathan Schwartz mentioned something about The Flaming Lips having the "Golden Pen" and they could sign any 2 bands to the Bonnaroo Lineup they wanted. Not sure if there is any other talk about this in this thread or another, haven't had too much time to read through them while I'm at work. Has anyone else heard about this or am I just crazy?

Sounds like a clause for the Superjam if anything.

This is in regards to the Sonic Bids thing to submit your band's music and possibly get picked to play at Roo. He and Billboard Magazine are picking 2 bands.
With Failure's reunion tour endin' in May (so far) anybody think they could be an add? I'd lose my fuckin' mind! And I just can't afford to travel and see them so it'd pretty much make my life.
That'd be quite cool.
I see Blank Range has been switched out with Kansas Bible Company. Maybe that means they are working on the lineup and some additions will be coming. Or maybe it just means there was the one change.

What's the likelihood of Houndmouth getting bumped up to a tent this year? They have a show scheduled in Nashville on the 12th. Wouldn't be crazy to play earlier on Thursday. Drive to Nashville then head out to Colorado.
I would love to see Houndmouth again. One of my favorite bands, but I won't be upset or let down if they don't appear on the lineup.
Holy shit, I can't even tell you how happy that just made me!
Just a few days ago I was pining for Omar and Cedric to make music together again. And then you go and throw Flea into the mix too?!?
Ya, this news just made my week.
Not that it really matters but it's also the drummer of Mars Volta too. Really kind of bizarre since their "break up" last year and how bitter Cedric got over Omar making a solo album.

Eh, I think to call him the "drummer" of TMV is a bit of a stretch. He only filled in for the end of a tour. He played what, just over a dozen shows with them? Jon, Thomas, and Deantoni are the drummers It's hard for me to pick a favorite out of those too, loved different things about all of them.
Don't get me wrong, I think all the band members of TMV were very talented, but Omar and Cedric were the creative driving force behind it.
I always hoped they'd get back together, just wasn't expecting it for a few more years!
Don't think it was so much making a solo album (Omar's released a crazy number throughout the years!), but more the fact he turned his primary focus to Bosnian Rainbows instead of TMV. Wanting to pursue BR instead of touring behind Nocturniquet. That's at least what I picked up from what I saw.

I never got the London Grammar jokes/act. I also never listened to them. Should I like them? Do they suck? Is this a Primus type thing where fans of the band say they suck as a compliment?

Ok time to come clean. I started the "London Grammar is awful" joke because I like them so much that I was trying to convince less people to see them so I could get a good spot. It was an inside joke that couldn't be killed once it got some momentum. They're pretty awesome. Somewhere between The xx and Florence Welch
