Anyone Know anything about this. From what I have heard 3 day festival. It will have 3 major indoor stages and 3 outdoor stages. I've heard 10-15 after party locations as well. I've read it will be SXSW meets Lolla. I think the lineup will come out this week and I have no idea what to expect. Anyone hear any rumors or know more.
Nope, nothing more than that article you sent me. I actually asked a friend who does a lot of stuff with high ball about it and she hadn't heard anything either. For something that is supposedly supposed to be pretty big they're not advertising it very well.
I know the LC will be involved, and I'm assuming since they said tickets could be as much as $250 they're going to have some shows at nationwide too. I'm pretty excited about this though, I hope it's successful and they get some good names.
My first thought is that if my source is correct (they had no additional info), it'll be a separate pay show at Nationwide to coincide with the festival. But that works for me. If possible, I'd day trip in for that and try out the urban camping.

I have a feeling it'll end up looking like Bunbury or Firefly; a lot of pop-rock dredge. But the urban camping thing sounds fantastically cool. And a coinciding Prince show is enough to get me there.

I was thinking more like SXSW. I don't see a lot of out door shows being free, I bet everything will be a separate fee with smaller places holding all day type shows. I'm very interested in seeing how it goes.
If Prince is involved, it'll just be a concert at Nationwide that gets lumped in with FMMF, but really it'll be its on concert.
The "urban camping" sounds interesting too. Idk where they'd do that? The fairgrounds maybe? It's gated so they keep the homeless people out, but it's kinda far from short north & the arena district. Either way, I'll be attending. I wanna check this out for sure.

My best guess would be that the urban camping would be in Goodale Park, but I have no idea how they'd manage that.
I bet they will do what they do for high ball too. Put up barriers around high at and have all of the short north blocked off with one or two outdoor stages there. Then you'd have to pay entry to get into the "convert area" but also pay to get into all the bars along high right there, which will probably be hosting their own shows. But if they do that, they will allow drinking in the streets which would be cool. I'm sure they'll probably have stages at goodale park like they do for comfest. As far as the fashion aspect goes, not sure what to expect there. But I'll be dressing up in my "best" attire I'm sure...
The more I think about this, this could turn out really cool. I just hope they don't charge for EVERYTHING separate, because that would get REALLY expensive & basically I'd pick just a couple shows if want to see.

I feel like camping in goodale would allow a lot of potential for crime. I see that as another place for more stages. Lots of homeless people live in goodale, I don't think they'd appreciate a bunch of people intruding in their "space" for a weekend. Luckily, I live close so I'd just drive in everyday. Or I'd stay with my friend off Kenny/meadow and take a cab in. But really, no clue where the "urban camping" would be that would be both safe and comfortable.

I am starting to look forward to this. We live just north of the Arena District off Riverside, so it would be a short cab ride/drive away. Also, unless they completely drop the ball on the lineup, I'd imagine there will be a few acts I can check out each day/night, making it worthwhile. As was mentioned earlier, I don't see Goodale being a likely spot for camping. There are homes on three sides, and that likely would piss off those people. Placing the camping in a lot near the arena, like in the lot behind the LC, would make sense.
Any word on the lineup today? They've got until Monday if they stick with a March announcement. (I spent most of my post-college life in Columbus and would love if this became a good, annual event!)
The lineup is being released at a party tonight. But the headliners (Nationwide acts) won't be announced until May. As for the after party concerts, I'm not sure if that's part of tonight's release or if they'll be withheld until May.

no no real stand outs, Circa Survive (not a fan), Local Natives, & Cold War Kids. I've seen MojoFlo a couple of times, they're fun. I've never heard of anyone from the fashion list. Interested to see who these TBA headliners will be.
You can't beat free. That's my Columbus! I'll be curious to see the headliners too, but I'm happy to see something like this come to be. Hopefully, our city can keep it going. The fashion angle is interesting and kind of fits with Columbus being home to the good old Limited Brands, among others. I wonder how it'll all weave together logistically.
As for the bands, I really fell in love with Local Natives at Bonnaroo last year, and I still haven't managed to see Cold War Kids live. I have an acquaintance -- long fallen out of touch -- in Cadaver Dogs, but I can't say I know their music at all. I'm also not familiar with most of these bands; I wonder if most are local/regional.
Supposedly a flyer leaked (or was released) that had a bunch of the new names on it, so I'm guessing that's where the new names are coming from. Not to mention The Menzingers and Maps & Atlases both look like answers to the first two clues.
