Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I obviously haven't checked back here in a while, haha. Glad to see others are interested in a Nashville meet up on Tuesday night! If someone from around there has a good suggestion to maybe meet up for dinner or something, that would be awesome!
We chose near Broadway because it seemed most convenient and a good tourist location, since neither of us have ever been to Nashville.
We're coming from Michigan and are expecting to arrive sometime around 5 or so. I know a bunch of people are going to Third Man Records on Wednesday before heading to The Farm, too.
Where are you from in Michigan? My partner and I used to live in Ann Arbor.
Staying near Broadway is always a good bet for tourists, but don't limit your short amount of time in Nashville to Lower Broadway and 2nd Avenue. As others pointed out, locals don't spend a ton of time down there and you're not getting a honest feel of the city. Most of the popular hot spots in Nashville are also a short drive from downtown. I would also check out the Nashville Scene to get a good gist of whats going on if you have time to kill. Here's a good breakdown of the most popular district around Nashville.
I'll second the recommendations for East Nashville. There are handful of distinct neighborhoods in East Nashville with a welcoming, local and independent vibe. Lots of great food all over the place as well. I live on the west side, but spend a fair amount of time over there due to the energy. 12South, Midtown, The Gulch, and Germantown are other personal faves with their own distinct vibes.
Make sure you try some of the local cuisine like hot chicken (I'd recommend Hattie B's in Midtown since it's great quality & much easier to access than Prince's) or a meat & three. The bushwhackers are indeed fantastic. I thought the alcoholic "Frosty" description was apt, but it's essentially a thick, alcoholic milkshake. Never had the ones at Edley's, but my favorite place to get one is Broadway Brewhouse. (TIP: try it with a shot of banana liqueur mixed in if you have a sweet tooth like me).

I'm certainly open to it if I'm not running around Nashville like a chicken with my head cut off that Tuesday. Despite being a music fan in Nashville, this will be my first Bonnaroo experience!
I'd also be willing to show some folks around that evening. We house out of town guests at our house as a side business, so we're used to recommending places or taking them out if they want.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm very excited to experience Nashville for the first time...even if it's just for the night. Also, my Roo partner and I are both from suburbs of Lansing!
Someone else mentioned organizing a meet up with someone who can show us around. I'm definitely up for that idea! ????
Everyone needs to go here and order the extra hot.
Are you trying to ruin their Bonnaroo!? Haha you always have to think of what your restroom conditions for the next few days are before going off the deep end.
Any recommendations for bars with a good beer selection in Nashville . I was given a hotels.com gift card for my bday and plan on spending Tuesday night in the area. Also is downtown Nashville a good spot to stay? or should I try elsewhere.

Donelson, near the airport has cheaper hotels, though at this point they may be all sold out. There isn't much to do around there though.
If you want to be in the middle of everything then downtown or midtown (West End/Vanderbilt area) would be good, but probably pricey.

I got a hotel near the airport(extended stay I think) for Wednesday night last year and I booked it the Monday or Tuesday of that week, so it shouldn't be a prob. I just the the Priceline option where you bid and they don't tell you what hotel and i think I got it for like 60$. The price of a cab to and from downtown was pretty pricey though, I was by myself but if your with a couple others and can split it's probably worth it.

Where are you staying. Lots of places now have great beer selections. Two of my favorite are 12 South taproom and M.L. Rose but I'd hate to send you across town if you were staying next to some other places I could recommend.

Thanks for the help everyone! I was looking at the Guesthouse Inn on Hayes or the The Best Western on Union street. Trying to stay around 100 because thats what I have a gift card for. I won't mind taking a cab if its not too pricy because I'll be with a few others who'll split it with me.
If you're looking for a place to eat in the downtown area - check out Demos'. Also downtown, Beer Sellar has a nice beer selection.
If you want to grab a cab (or a Lyft) to venture outside of downtown, I highly suggest hitting Five points in East Nashville. Multiple bars in a small area and lots of good vibes. My fav over there is Red Door East

I am looking at Gueshouse Inn right now from my office window! haha
I know I'm missing stuff but here's what's walking distance from: Guesthouse Inn Midtown Hattie B's Hot Chicken - A Nashville specialty Broadway Brewhouse - Good beers and Bushwhackers (see previous posts) Red Door West - Lots of beers Tavern - A little nicer bar with great food. Corner Pub - Sports bar-ish with a variety of beers. Blackstone Brewery & Restaurant Two Boots Pizza - open LATE! by the slice specialty pizzas. Elliston Place Samurai Sushi Corner Bar - dive. super cheap drinks. Exit/In - Historic music venue The End - neighboring venue with more great bands. Dunkin' Donuts
Best Western on Union Broadway Tons of honky tonks, but Robert's is a must Rippy's BBQ - big open 2nd floor bar and great bbq Pub5 - smaller but quality beer list and great food 2nd Ave Other places to note The Oak Bar at Hermitage Hotel (go here and then visit the men's restroom next to it...even if you're a female. it's famous and awesome!) Demo's Steak House - nothing special, but a great filling meal for next to nothing
Corner Bar is my favorite bar. We mainly go there for karaoke, but are good friends with lots of the regulars as well as the owners/bar managers. It's my Cheers

Cafe Coco is within walking distance of Guesthouse, too. It's just off of Elliston. 24 hour coffee shop with good cheap food, a bar in the back, and some awesome people watching

Thanks for all the recommendations, glad to see I'll have a lot of options. A 24 hour coffee shop is always something I can use.

On Tuesday night at Dan McGuinness there will be a 70's/80's rock/metal band featuring an array of players from bands like Alice Cooper, Thin Lizzy and Ted Nugent. It isn't even my bag of music and I gotta say it is pretty damn solid. No cover either.
There is a best western right across the street and it makes midtown, the gulch, demonbreun and downtown walkable. Also, Nashville now has bike rental stations all over so you can swipe a credit card and ride one downtown and dump it at a nearby station. Do downtown if you really have to but midtown and demonbreun row are where it's at.
