So then who is it? We can end the debate right now. And if you tell me you don't know, you're "flat" lying.
Could you guys take this discussion elsewhere, please? It has nothing to do with this suspension.
Now that you've said it had nothing to do with it, fine. But what I said was completely accurate, mods were looking to Flanzo for answers about that. I left unstated that it could have influenced the decision, and if you say it didn't, so be it.
Please allow the imbecile to continue flailing around accusing (Falsely, at least with regards to myself, emoney) everyone in sight of being mean to him on another forum. It's extraordinarily amusing

I will speak for myself on this. I heard about it.
As far as "was forced to defend himself" I know nothing. I would assume he was asked about it? Since he was being accused. I did not speak to him about it and I have no idea who did. Which sounds a lot different than "forced to defend himself".
Either way, it was briefly brought up and then was not spoke of again, amongst us as a group. When we were discussing this situation.
Why would something on another board have anything to do with this one?
You would think that it doesn't. But for some reason, we are sometimes held accountable for what happens on other boards, chat, twitter, FB, snapchat, Instagram, Google+, and I am sure I have left some out.

Big responsibility Lucas.
But, in all seriousness. Thanks for answering. Although I still don't see how one has anything to do with the other. It seems to me if there is a problem on the Coachella board, then it should be taken up with the Coachella moderators.(Provided they have any. I really don't know.)
Also, if someone was impersonating me I think I would be flattered. But I'm a huge egomaniac so I would probably try to ask myself on a date.

Justa day in the life, right? ***cr
(no, I am not sticking up for anyone with this post)

I think in Phi's case, he has worked for a while to build up Festival Snob as a brand and an internet presence. So someone pretending to be him hurts his reputation as a festival news source and just generally damages his credibility. Though I am moderately surprised he didn't already have a "festival snob" presence on the Coachella board, it would kinda make sense to almost strictly go by that moniker once you made the decision.
As for the rest of this discussion, what else is left to be said? Seems kinda done at this point.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

Well, there can be a little more to it than that. Like Colorado Ron admitted to sleeping with child prostitutes on the Coachella board. The post itself wasn't the issue, per se, rather it was the fact that now a whole bunch of people knew that about him and it was gonna be a problem.
Anyway, I mostly brought up the Phi thing to point out that even though Phi was being "funny gif guy" about all this, behind the scenes he was trying start shit with Flanzo and the mods.

Ok. Obviously there are going to be exceptions. Like being an out in the open terrible person. Don't do that. Although would love to read that Coachella thread. I'm a sucker for internet ridiculousness.
But something like a jacked internet persona should be approached in the proper jurisdiction.

So I can start a twitter account and retweet shit and become a brand and an internet presence ?
if you can gather a big enough following, and provide information and news about a topic your followers are passionate about, then of course you can. Especially if you're better at it than most others.
well it seems all 3 of my possible handles are available. But then I wouldn't have as much time to monitor Inforoo and it numerous riff-raff, idiots and backstabbers.
If the word "cunt" is so offensive, why not censor it? I understand and agree with the notion that censorship sucks. But if the usage of certain words are so heinous as to deserve a ban, why are they even allowed on here to begin with?
I'm not trying to start a fight with the mods. Just asking a sincere question.
He was not banned. He is suspended, there is a big difference.
Also, we had words "censored" or "filtered" and people went nuts about it. So we changed it so that, if you wanted, you could use and see those words as they are typed. We leave it up to individuals as to how they use or direct those words.
There is no difference at this point. Might as well have run him out of town on a rail.
Changing the word filter is more than just showing a particular word, that clearly indicates a difference in philosophy -- that people should be free to use their full vocabulary to tell someone that they are wrong.
When the child sex tourist posts apparently there's a group meeting. When flanzo freely expresses himself after a (temporary) banhammer, the mods ask no one what to do.

There is a difference, he was not banned or "run out of town on a rail" He was suspended and will be back, if he chooses, in two weeks.
No matter if a user opts out of the word filter or not, they can use any word they choose to tell any member anything. It is up to the individual users to choose how those words are displayed.
Your last point is comparing apples to oranges, as the saying goes. There were a lot of other factors we had to take into account. Namely, the larger issue of what to do when something happens or is said outside of this board and how does that effect a users standing here. When it we run up against a unique situation we do ask for opinions (opinions are always welcomed, that does not mean they are always agreed with) but that is not standard operating procedure when deciding what action to take when the rules are clearly broken.

Be realistic -- you temp-ban the guy twice within a month. You really expect him to come back?
You and the other mods could have handled this via much easier methods.
As to the CRon situation, there is no difference. You'll raise protectionism when it comes to flanz but when it comes to an outsider who sprays admissions to criminal activity all over the interwebs there's a god damn pow-wow. Fuck standard operating procedure -- its called being reasonable.
"If flanzo gets fed up with being repeatedly temp-banned for no good reason and stops coming back to be abused some more, that's his decision! Why would you suggest we had anything to do with it???"

You are certainly are entitled to your opinion. We do appreciate it.

Oh come on. You really think a "local" shit disturber should be handled with the same severity or procedure as someone who apparently lacks a moral compass(and not the funny one)?

When the severity/procedure of the two situations are compared, perhaps one of them should rank ahead of the other, and when the opposite is true, perhaps there's a problem there.
