You've never been in the Hangout thread, have you?
I think this one became the winner when our boy wonder dropped that AF isn't MM headliner material. I mean... damn.
This was also a good one. Not only was he dropping some knowledge on the 'Hood, he really understands the art of making close minded generalizations about genres of music.
It's because there is already a band called The Neighborhood. Personally any music is good, excluding mainstream pop, some rap, really hardcore metal, and newer country music. I don't see what's so "shitty" about The Neighbourhood.
The lineup can't live up to last years... Hopefully that can be said and can be proved wrong though.
Lol. Dude just because you dislike a band doesn't disqualify them to headline a festival.
I like their first album, and it's not anything to do with size. I think they were a good fit for Coachella (not so much Glastonbury).
It's just that we are talking about a completely different environment. AF has been around ten years and since Coldplay, the youngest band MM has booked has been Foo Fighters.
Also, I don't think they even sold out Aaron's Amphitheater last month when they were here. It's simply a bad fit for this specific festival.
I love this thread haha. I'm quite nervous for this years lineup and have no idea what to expect. The last two years' Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam & Red Hot shows were absolutely incredible. Journey not so much haha. Just saw Jack White and loved the show, I would be pleased to see him again here. Although Petty isn't 'likely' it's possible.. and Eminem... well.. he's definately not in the Slim Shady prime days, but, I would like to be able to look back one day and say "I saw Eminem", so I wouldn't be too upset..
I mean, I could care less about who is playing. I'll be honest. It's more of the fact that people honestly believe that Arcade Fire couldn't headline a festival in the US after headlining Bonnaroo, Lolla, Coachella (x2), Austin City Limits, Sasquatch, and Outside Lands in the past several years. I honestly don't think they will play, but if they did, they would indeed be a headliner.
Y'all have fun. I hope it's a good one.

As much as I want to know who is playing since this a hometown show, I would rather see this crazy speculation go on for another week or so. It's just too entertaining.

People are still doubting Petty lol.
But something big I look for in the main headliner is the closing song. Like, Give it Away was a great MM closer and I would not Lose Yourself closing out MM at all.
