Top five things to see this year music and/or otherwise?
Top trick or tip that keeps you going the distance at the festival long after the drunk naked kids have passed out?
Top pieces of gear you can't live without?
Where you're traveling from and how many times you've been to the farm?
Now GO!
This reminds me of part of an idea I had for a festival I recently went to. It was to fill out little cards answering a few questions. A festival match game. Here were a few of the questions
Which act would make the perfect festidate? Where would you like to be taken for dinner? (vendors) What embarrassing music secret should a date know and accept but not bring up? Are you an "on the rail" person or a "lounge in the back" person?
Hi all. Heading for my first Roo. My kids define this as a midlife crisis. I say these fests are FUN. Learning to love all kinds of music. See y'all in a few weeks! Lara (53)
welcome Lara! Keep an open mind, read the threads so you're prepared for the experience, and have fun! Come to brunch! I have discovered so much new music in the past 5 years....I've also learned a lot about myself.
Hey Zen. I'm pretty darned open minded!!! Attended my first music fest last year (about 30,000 size I think), and had such a blast. Loved sleeping a tent again. Loved the friendly atmosphere. I needed to just turn down my well-practiced "Momma" brain, that worried about all the great kids that were just having TOOOO much fun. But I just loved it. My friend I'm going with is huge into all kinds of music and creates playlists based on the lineup to help me stop saying, "Who is that?"
If you're on Facebook there is an over 40 Rooers group. PM me and I'll friend you/add you to the group if you want. Also there are a couple of threads on here besides this one for chronologically mature Rooers.

Those are great questions and hard to choose. I mean the artist depends on the date and the venue. A head and the heart date may be different than Let's say Kanye. Who am I kidding. I'd never take a date to Kanye.
Dinner would be food trucks of the weirdest most different food to try. Gah! Or maybe comfort food.
I once bought a ticket for a show in Seattle from a guy. We met up to exchange and ended up having drinks with a full on make out session post concert. Best. Random. Date. Ever.
I love to be in the rail so I can see but depends on artist and well how many drinks I've had. I've seen PJ I don't know how many times and can be content in the back. Depends if I want to rock out. But there was a day where I had to be rail. I prefer to be as close as possible.

Well this thread never made it this year. Come on 30's and 40's.
I wouldn't consider 30s to be anywhere near "older". I'd say you can call yourself older when you hit mid-late 40s. That's like the halfway point for the average American adult's lifespan.

Well shit if that didn't send me on an existential afternoon journey. Oh and get the fuck off my lawn.
