frank OCEAN
I swear I've got three lives/Balanced on my head like steak knives I can't tell you the truth about my disguise/I can't trust no one
Bio He grew up in New Orleans, but moved to Los Angeles in his late teens to pursue a career in music. While in high school, He began recording music and worked various odd jobs to pay for the studio time. After graduating from high school in 2005, he enrolled at the University of New Orleans. However, in August of that year, Hurricane Katrina hit and wreaked havoc on the region. Amidst the chaos, the facility where Frank was recording at the time was badly flooded and looted, prompting him to set aside his academic ambitions and take some time to pursue his musical goals Frank Ocean started out ghostwriting tracks for such pop stars as Justin Bieber and Beyoncé, but soon achieved fame as an artist when, in 2011, he released an album of his own music, titled 'Nostalgia'. In 2012 he came out as bi-sexual (Does that really matter?) Later that year he released his highly anticipated album 'channel ORANGE' He is also a member of the collective rap group Odd Future.
Personal Opinion
I first heard Frank on the Tyler, the Creator's; song 'She'. After this, I looked into his music and instantly became a huge fan. He is a solid artist. Very mellow with his music and clearly the most calm member of OF. While I enjoy all of their music, Frank is probably my favorite of the group. Listen to any of his songs it doens't matter... 'Thinkin' 'bout You', 'Swim Good', 'Bad Religion', 'Super Rich Kids' or 'Forrest Gump'. You'll be in for a treat. One of my all time favorite artists.
The Feels
While his music is darker than most R&B artists he still hits you deep with his lyrics
Its a bad religion/Unrequited love/To me its nothing but a one man cult/And cyanide in my styrofoam cup - Bad Religion
It won't ever get old, not in my soul/Not in my spirit, keep it alive/We'll go down this road/'Til it turns from color to black and white - Thinkin' 'bout You
We build a house in paradise, will we get to heaven still?/If we don't have to live through Hell just to get to Heaven/I'ma stay right here, with you, 'til the hurricane comes/'Til the tsunami comes, I've found my golden - Golden Girl
---Thanks to roguehero for the find. Frank apparently had some older stuff released under the name of Lonny Breaux here is the link for that as well.---
While I have never seen him personally I've seen my fair share of videos and he seems to put on a good show. Very chill. Nothing fancy. Just him and a chair. I will NOT miss out on him this year. If you're on the fence about seeing him, keep in mind, he NEVER tours. It's a rarity for him to do a show. So this could very well be your 1 and only chance to see him.

Sorry It was late... My PC has been acting up on me.
I do not want to step on your toes or steal any thunder from your post, but I just (like 30 min ago) discovered that Frank Ocean has tons of music out there under a different name! I don't know if this is well known by anyone and I am by no means acting like I'm the first person to discover this, but I haven't seen anywhere that someone has posted about this before. Apparently he has tons of tracks out there under the name Lonny Breaux (I guess part of his birth name). link Just wanted to get this info out there, if it wasn't already, so that people could check out his old stuff. I personally felt like I struck gold when I found it, because I love some Frank Ocean.

Not stepping on my toes at all. Thank you for the info. More Frank is a win for everyone!!!
I'm a long time Odd Future fan. Channel Orange is one of my favorite albums of the past few years and definitely a landmark for this new wave of R&B acts like Janelle Moane, The-Dream, the Weeknd etc. I remember hunting for it on the day of its release and going to 3 separate Best Buys and they were all sold out. THat's when I knew this was a big deal. I think it debuted at #2. The whole album is so so so great. Can't wait to see him. Honestly probably the second reason I'm going to the fest behind Kanye.

It's actually the most random chain of events that I even found out about it. I was going to go out for some drinks, but while weighing the pros and cons of if I should go out or not and clicking on many Frank Ocean related links I stumbled upon Lonny Breaux. I'm glad I stayed in!

I don't think I've ever been so excited to see somebody perform in my life. I even got my franky frank tshirt, with his beautiful face on it, and then I've got a tattoo of his lyrics right next to the sleeve. I think I might cry. a lot.
