My favorite musician is now touring in 2014 (partial list): LINK
...and has a 7" vinyl being released 7/1/14: LINK #2
...with an album out this Fall. I saw him in Memphis, TN at the Cannon Center several years ago and it remains as one of the best live performances I've ever seen in my life. He's that good.
...and this thread is my attempt to get him at Bonnaroo in 2015.
He puts so much soul into his songs when he performs, though. He would be a great Which Stage act in the afternoon. Just kick back, drink a beer, and listen to his pre-Mandy Moore madness/storytelling.

I threw this together real quick, so I reserve the right to change my opinion, as its said. (I do not own Orion, III/IV, and I have only listened to 29 a handful of times so I excluded them from the list)
My favorite Ryan Adams albums (Whiskeytown included)
He's playing some type of music festival up north either this month (or last month?) if I'm not mistaken... with Jenny Lewis (he's producing her new album). That's a good question. I would say a lot of musicians are control freaks, though. Kanye is one... Bjork is a bit of one. Thom Yorke is one.
My favorite Ryan Adams albums (Whiskeytown included) 1. Love Is Hell 2. Cold Roses 3. Gold 4. Pneumonia 5. Elizabethtown Sessions 6. Jacksonvilly City Nights 7. Heartbreaker 8. Strangers Almanac 9. Easy Tiger 10. Demolition 11. The rest in a tie
He's also headlining the Newport Folk Festival. I doubt he'd play Bonnaroo because he has said he doesn't like playing festivals, or playing during the day. While he's playing these other festivals, he's at least headlining. I don't think the idea of being on the undercard at Bonnaroo would appeal to him. I may be wrong though
Will they provide beds to fall asleep through all his slow songs???
To each his own... I am a big fan of songwriters who have substance in their music. Some people are fans of jam bands. Some people like the electronic stuff. Everyone needs a nap at some point during Bonnaroo, so if Ryan's music isn't your thing, lay out a blanket and take a nice nap while everyone else sings along to some of the best lyrics to ever hit the farm.
Oh man. I had this same thought when I saw his album was announced.
Actually... I kept hearing his songs on the What stage in between other acts this year, & kept saying how much that made me want to see him on the farm. I'm hoping all those songs was a good omen & we'll actually get him. Been a fan for years & haven't ever seen him live!

I'm going to be seeing him next week in Jersey, and I can't fucking wait. I have no idea what to expect, but he is one of the greatest living songwriters and has influenced my own music in more ways than I can count. Seeing him on the farm would undoubtedly rank among the best shows ever at the festival.
