i'm in my early 30's and for the first time in my life, I felt like I was that weird guy that's to old to be at this party. Don't get me wrong, I can go all day and all night, It just seemed like the crowd was a much younger crowd that didn't have the time for us older folks.....not saying that about all. anyone else get that feeling?
There was a lot of that, I think the EDM crowd brings that along. A positive in my mind from that is that there was an energy at centeroo and the grounds that was stronger than I remember
I overheard something this year I hadn't heard in while, which was a conversation about what show to go to next devolving into mass confusion over the names of tents/stages.
so thank you roo for not sponsoring your main stages. still funny today.
That was probably my girlfriend. She brought it up at least twice a day

This was my 3rd Roo and that always gets me at least once. Damn you Ashely Capps, damn you…
I've been to 7 and I still get confused between That and This. I overheard some girls asking where Which stage was, while in view of Which stage and heard some guy step up to tell them where it was, only to tell them completely wrong. I didn't help, I just laughed and continued on.
Nah, I'm 32, and have been camping with my current crew for the last four years, since we first met. MOST of them are under 25. 2015 will be my seventh. I absolutely love my croo. Wish I could take time off and go visit them individually. I even send them Christmas cards (The only ones I send, in fact.)
Last year was my first time. A neighboring camp had both people marking this as their 11th roo individually. Both were close to 50. They were pretty much gone after the music started each day. Jealous, I am

I kept running into people who've been going since 03, 04.
A bunch of younger folks, but I'll be 36 this Sunday at roo (june 14) and honestly, you just start feeling that way when you hit 30 imo. I don't care, I'm there for the music. While the kids might have more energy, I know how to pace myself and find the good spots.
officially not in the first time club anymore YAY! but I'm more excited preparing for roo this year than I was last year bc I had no clue what i was getting myself into.
I wish I could go into Bonnaroo not knowing what to expect again. That was my most fun festival experience ever.
It's been too long, I can barely even remember the what it was like to get there. That's what I'm looking forward to most, to drive in and get the campsite and set up and then to pull out the foldable chairs and have a few beers with friends before getting rest to rise early-ish Thursday.... Oh man, we don't even have the lineup quite yet and I'm dying to get back on the farm

i was at home thinking about scheduling this year already lol
They did a survey after the fest in, I think, 2013 and about 55% of those who filled it out said they were first time attendees.
I think that probably had a lot to do with McCartney and Mumford headlining (mostly Paul though)
Paul was what got me to my first Roo. Didnt plan on going last year because I thought I wasnt going to get my time off work aproved. But a week before the fest I got it aproved. Bought presale tix this year. Im now hooked

Paul was my first year - I had to skip last year because I didn't have anyone to go with and was too chicken to do it alone. This year I plan on going it alone and volunteering - so I feel like I get a chance to do a different type of too for the first time again! Can't wait.

Did any one else think there were a lot more first timers this year? I feel like last year and the year before that the overwhelming majority had been to Bonnaroo before but this year seemed like 70% of the people I talked to were there for their first time.
I had wondered if this would be the case with the show this year. I think that might have been because there seemed to be more of a rap presence in the lineup than in years past. There were enough big names to bring in people who wouldn't normally think about going to a festival like Bonnaroo.
love all the positivity, I just don't know if I want to do a full weekend. But definitely one day/night.
I know all 4 days sounds like a long time but it will be so fun and packed with a million things you want to do that you forget about the crappy part. Happens every time. Were there a shit ton of people everywhere? Yes. Does it suck to sleep outside for the 4 days? Depends on who you are. Will it be a million degrees? Possibly. But you will spend 4 days being part of the coolest and most laid back community I have ever met. It really is like a huge shanty town where everyone is just chilling and giving positive vibes while listening to some great music. And the bands realize this is a big show and many times you will see the artists give one of their best shows! I think Bonnaroo is something everyone should do at least once before they die! There is nothing like it! Then the sun goes does and the Chinese lanterns start to float and it is the most beautiful moment ever!

Yeah. I was surprised and thought I saw more. When I talked to people I normally started a conversation by asking "So how many years have you been?" I had a resounding number of people who said that it was their 1st year.
I wish I could go into Bonnaroo not knowing what to expect again. That was my most fun festival experience ever.
I did that in 2013 and stumbled onto Paul McCartney's mic check. It was magical. I was scared and separated from my group and tired and then I heard Penny Lane in the distance. Heaven, really.

I feel like this board accomplishes the opposite of "not knowing what to expect"
This is true. I had not joined this board before my first Bonnaroo. I had just skimmed through the message board that used to be on the Bonnaroo website. I didn't join here until the anticipation of my next Bonnaroo had grown and I began looking for more information.
