God these hangout douches are the worst. Just stay in your thread.
I love how frat bros are the devil walking on earth but all the festies on here that sit on here criticize all different types of people because of how they choose to live their lives are A-OK and great people!
Fucking geeds just don't get it.
Festies classify frat bros as any non-blatantly hipster male between 18-23, I find it comical personally.
There are 30+ year old bros. A DMB ballerina tattoo is the mark of their creed.
I live in Delaware, about thirty minutes away from Firefly... And I just can't imagine going. This is such a lame, uptight area. I'd rather struggle to make it to Roo. Honestly, I'd love to try to get to Sasquatch but I just don't know how I'd get there.
I really don't understand the hate on Firefly. I've been to the past 2 and have had a great time at each. It's certainly different from Bonnaroo but I didn't find the crowd to be obnoxious at all. I like the layout of the festival and if the lineup is solid i'll try and make it out there again. Its definitely a suitable substitute for bonnaroo if your from the east coast and can't make the drive to Tennessee
You guys do realize there is literally a college down the street from the woodlands right? But hey, no need to get defensive. I hope anyone going has an absolute blast.

People seem to forget Firefly is only a few years old and anytime you have the organizers of Coachella lending a hand it helps out a bit. There can never be too many good festivals and I think anyone who truly loves music is doing a disservice to themselves not checking out a few different festivals over the years.
It says the informer got information from a reliable source about the two headliners, and the other headliner recently played Bonnaroo and is a "major" act. So the first thing that comes to mind is Paul McCartney, then Kanye, and maybe Elton John? Those are all major acts in my mind.
So Paul McCartney, The Killers, and Kings of Leon?
Or Kanye, Killers, Kings of Leon?
Or Elton, Killers, Kings of Leon?
If potentially the Top 3, thoughts?
That would be the best number one on a festival lineup so far this year.
i wouldnt consider Kanye a major act, he played both Made In Americas last year which are both much smaller
Would you really consider Made in America a small fest, though? Their headliners in the past included Jay Z, Beyonce, Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails and Kanye. 2014 was weaker than usual because they split their budget up amongst two different cities. But I still think that 2013 lineup was really strong.
true and i think with Jay-Z being behind it he was obviously gonna headline and we had to expect Bey and Ye too. However Kanye keeps getting worse live from what i have seen and i just dont think he is Macca, Bruce, Prince, U2 big ya know
At this point Firefly is holding back because they have a great lineup. I am interested why people consider it a "second-tier" festival. It had 80,000 people last year. A little smaller than Bonnaroo. Granted it is not as established as Bonnaroo, but it's becoming a desirable festival due to its proximity to 3 major metropolitan areas. I've been the past two years and I think people have some misconceptions about it. I wouldn't consider it a "bro-fest". It may just appear that way because the majority of people who attend are college students. I think festivals have to appeal to that age group because it is the population group that would most likely go to a music festival. They are the group with least amount of responsibilities, they have stamina to survive the long days, and they have the disposable income for events like music festivals.

Booking imagine dragons for the #4 spot is a great reason to consider it a second-tier festival.
yea they book a lot of mainstream, radio friendly acts in the undercard. But they have done good for the most part with the upper part despite having Foster The People and Jack Johnson headline, Imagine Dragons at 4, etc. Im pretty sure Firefly had the majority of the bands that played for free at the radio 104.5 shows in Philly from the past 2 summers
You cannot tell me that this lineup isnt quacking amazing. Other than not having a true third headliner this may have been the perfect storm of lineups. A ton of the undercards were at that very special place where they were about to blow up. Unfortunately(or fortunately depending on how you look at Imagine Dragons), Imagine Dragons and The Lumineers canceled (my theory is that they got too big for being billed that low) and took up top spots this year but I mean seriously,, you cannot look at this lineup and say that its a second tier festival. Kendrick is headlining Roo this year for goodness sake and they were the only festival to get Vampire Weekend on their album drop year.

I do agree that I think they have a great lineup for this year. However that 2013 lineup was luck driven. The odds of 6-8 undercard acts blowing up like that is unreal. You could argue ID, Zedd, Krewella, Schoolboy Q, Capital Cities, and others were all criminally under billed.
its good but far from amazing or even fucking amazing
Maybe I'm biased cause it was my first festival experience, but I honestly thought it deserved a quack. Vampire Weekend was the best show I saw all year and I saw The National at The National.
2013 was unbelievable. 2014 was great as well. Bring Foo Fighters out of hiatus. Imagine Dragons put on a great show. I am not a huge fan of them but they killed it. Big expectations for 2015.
Firefly is on the up and up.It will solidify itself this year. Firefly doesn't have to worry about attendance. Could reduce single day tickets and increase four day with a big lineup. It will figure out how to appease everyone.

The top three lines on the lineup are pretty dreadful. But ya, this was easily the best year for the fest.
