Yeah the secondary market has been beyond shit for Boston Calling because none of them have sold out (ever?). I personally wouldn't take that risk.
One-days for Saturday 2014 sold out. I was able to sell my ticket for face value that morning to someone I connected with on Twitter. (There were only a couple of performers I had mild interest in seeing that day, so the weather forecast of intense heat followed by intense storms made selling it a no-brainer for me.)
On the other hand, I couldn't find a taker for my Friday night ticket for last week's festival at $30 or $20. I ended up giving it away for free.
More people should search #BostonCalling on Twitter right before and during the event for people looking to dump single-day tickets at heavily discounted prices.

Hmm, that makes sense. My favorite line up was last May's, but September 2014 had a pretty impressive and diverse line up for Boston Calling. Easily my second favorite.
Just ordered...regular (non-VIP) comes to $138 and change per ticket. There aren't multiple delivery options; you're simply informed that tickets will be e-mailed in early 2016.
Unlike Ticketmaster, there wasn't the usual Friday 10 am system slowdown which can make it difficult to order tickets online. It took around two minutes to order.
As was the case once before, the onsale was activated a couple of minutes early.
So this is the first summer that I'll be staying in NYC. I'll most likely go to the May fest anyways because my whole family goes, but I'm torn as to whether I should get tickets now or just wait until right before the fest and scrounge up some cheap ones. Thoughts?

I would wait unless your prediction is correct haha. Definitely too many big names, but it would be fucking awesome. The Strokes, Frank Ocean, Flaming Lips, Ryan Adams, Chance, Band of Horses, Charli, The Kills, motherfucking Pond! I'd be there in a heartbeat just for Pond. But RA closing one stage and The Strokes headlining would be rough for me - I'd camp for The Strokes, but I love me some RA too.
And I'm honestly surprised Lady Lamb hasn't played yet. Quilt are a good pick for the local openers, but other than Krill it seems like they're going for local bands that are like local favorites or big names locally.

I have a tendency to stack my mocks, because it's much more fun that way. Florence is probably stretching it both because she might be too big now and it's hard to tell if she'll be touring by next summer. So we can kill two birds with one stone and put RA and The Strokes on Friday on the same stage.
Agree with you about local acts, I just don't know enough Boston bands so I put the best small ones that I'm familiar with.

Fair, its better to dream big anyway. RA into The Strokes would be killer, better than Tame Impala into Beck. I really hope they can pull out a halfway decent fest in May.

They always seem to go for fairly new local bands which just showed up on the radar within the last year or so. I keep campaigning on Twitter for Hallelujah The Hills to get a local band slot, but it always seems to go to bands which have opened for them or could open for them, in terms of local popularity (Tigerman WHOA! opened for them after they played BC).

Wilco is on the verge of selling out their second January Orpheum show (yesterday, they tweeted that there were less than 100 tickets left), so it wouldn't surprise me to see them finally do BC, even though they're doing two Orpheum shows in January. #WishfulThinking
Another headliner that wouldn't surprise me is Fall Out Boy. They've been selling records/iTunes tracks like crazy since coming back from their extended hiatus, but co-headlining tours the last two summers with Wiz Khalifa and Paramour haven't done great business. They were selling below face-value Mansfield tickets on some of those discount deals sites this past summer. (What happened? If a large part of your audience is too young to drive, don't play a remote suburban venue...unless you're Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, or some British boy band.)
They seem likely to hit the festival circuit next year for this reason.

Weezer are very potential. I'd imagine they'd Pre-HL and I'd love if BC booked them.
But I'd be surprised if Fall Out Boy ever play any "indie rock" festival. BC's lineup pretty consistently straddle the line between critically acclaimed "indie" rock/pop/hip-hop (Beck, The National, St. Vincent, Future Islands, Run the Jewels) and more mainstream "indie" music (Walk the Moon, fun., Of Monsters and Men, The 1975, Twenty One Pilots, Childish Gambino, Lorde). Fall Out Boy fits into neither of those categories and while they probably do pull some of the same audience, especially the latter one, they definitely don't fit the vibe of BC, although they did book Gerard Way this year
Thoughts on the potential of BC getting Bon Iver? I'd hope the Aaron Dessner connection and the fact that Volcano Choir didn't get to play could help us out
