So it seems pretty likely that with a new album coming in 2015 and already being announced to play festivals (Rock in Rio) next year they'll be an option to be at Roo. I got a chance to check out the Global Citizens Festival set that they did and it was pretty great, they seem ageless and sounded absolutely spot on, the Tragic Kingdom tracks killllled it, especially Sunday Morning.
If they were on the lineup where would they be billed? They've never been known for big stage productions so they could easily play a pre-headline on What or maybe even LN on Which (not sure if the crowd would be way too big though). Anyway, if we're going to get a pop-leaning act next year on the top 2 lines I rather see No Doubt than Beyonce.
I saw Beyonce at MiA 2 years ago and it was nothing great, sorry not sorry. She has a killer voice and presence for days but the performance, at a festival nonetheless, fell flat. She stopped every 3 or 4 songs and felt the need for an "applause break" before she would start the song back up, it reeked of narcissism.
The production left much to be desired and the backing tracks were a huge turn off. Yes, I understand almost all pop stars use backing tracks but for all the hype she gets I thought she might forego them. Also, her setlist was very heavy on midtempo tracks and ballads which made the set drag to a casual fan, which I would say I am.
Shes had 1 "hit" mainstream single off her new album, Drunk in Love, she had no hits on her previous album 4.

We talking bought the same Beyonce? Whats your definition of "hit"? Do you use Billboard to determine that? Also you missed partition off of the new album and from wiki because Im too lazy to type it out myself:
4 won R&B Album of the Year at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards[121] and received nominations at the 2011 American Music Awards,[122] the 2011 Soul Train Music Awards,[123] the 38th People's Choice Awards,[124] the 43rd NAACP Image Awards[125] and the 2012 Grammis.[126] At the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, "Love on Top" won the Best Traditional R&B Performance Award.[127]
As always you;re entitled to your opinion though. Just stating facts.

Yes, I am using Billboard as a tool because how many people attending Roo listen to traditional R&B radio? Partition peaked at like 45 on the Hot 100, flop. I have no problem with Beyonce being there but not wasting a headliner spot on her. No Doubt wouldn't use a headliner spot, probably pre-headling What or LN Which.

If you're using Billboard as an indicator then you're argument was null and void and flawed from the gate.

Parition peaked at 23 BTW.
Here are her singles and their peaks on the Hot 100...if Drunk In Love didn't take off (in part due to the video) she wouldn't have had a Top 10 hit since 2008 (6 years!). If any other pop artist who claimed to be one of the biggest stars in the world didn't chart a Top 10 single in almost 2 album cycles they'd be lableled a flop. She made a career in her first 3 albums and her work with DC.

I fail to see how No Doubt would certainly headline if they were somehow booked to play Bonnaroo. Maybe I'm just out of the loop.I was never into them in the 90's and can't picture them being a huge draw if they played a festival now.
I know they're headlining rock in rio, so I'm not disagreeing that they'd headline, I am just pretty shocked that that is the case because I had no idea they'd be that big of a draw. I'd like to see No Doubt on the farm but I'd be kinda bummed if they took up a HL spot though. This being said, I'm gonna go ahead and put myself on the island with gearbm95 and say that not only do I prefer no doubt over Beyoncé, I am not a big fan of Beyoncé's music, period, but I'd certainly love her playing Roo because almost everybody on the farm would go to her show and I'd get front row at the LN of my choosing.

I don't see them as a headliner probably a 4 or 5. I haven't really payed too much attention to Stefani's solo career. Would it be accurate to say her solo work is a bigger deal than No Doubt?
If you have any questions about them as a live act in 2014 check out the set they just did at the Global Citizens fest in Central Park. Gwen owned that crowd and the band was super tight. They still bring some if that ska sound live and they'd be a perfect fit for a party set.

If alternative was being compared to superstar R&B/pop in the mid 90's....our flannel would be all in a twist and we'd be vomiting in our combat boots.

I was surprised that deftones and linkin park are also top of that list. im honestly not too interested in rock in rio based on headliners.

That's an island I'll be joining you fine folks on. I have no hate for Be, just like I didn't for Kanye, I just don't care. Taste is subjective, and that just doesn't taste good to me. Also, I must admit, if No Doubt agreed to play all of Tragic Kingdom, I'd be stoked. But if Gwen pulled out a single song from her solo career, I'd be running for an Amish Pretzel as fast as my middle aged legs would carry me.

I think your taste buds are messed up!! don't you mean an Amish donut??

You're probably right, Rebel I guess it'd depend on if I'm drinking Camel Back smuggled whisky, or a craft beer. I like pretzels and beer, I love doughnuts and whisky!

I'd be down for it. I bet it'd be a fun show. They're one of those bands that I wouldn't pay to go see, but if they showed up an Bonnaroo I'd check them out. If they headlined I'd check them out for sure. If they were 4th or 5th they'd probably end up against someone that I'd choose over them.
