Hey Megan, Do you know of any safe places to park and leave a car in Jackson during Roo, that's not too far from the interstate? Instead of Caravaning, we might be cramming.
can leave at my house if ya want - I am not far off the interstate - other then that I would say - maybe a Walmart - I would not leave ANYTHING in Jackson itself - but the suburbs of weither Ridgeland, Madison or Brandon are relatively safe
Maybe the parking lot of the Hilton in Ridgeland - off I-55 (a little out of your way but the lot is normally active, patrolled, and always has people there.

im happy to hear that there are more ppl from louisiana my car just broke and im the only one outa my friends with a ticket and no ride so hopefuly i can get a new car or find someone to sqeez in with
I'll be leaving from N.O. sometime wed, with 3 in the car I believe, but at this point we are not quite sure. Could possibly have room for another, but won't know for a little while.
Coming from Alexandria, LA. I read on the Info guide that the gates open at 7 A.M. and centeroo doesn't open till Noon. How long do people wait in the parking lot of walmart to get a good spot? I plan on going tent only so I wanna get there and set up as early as possible.
we went in about 10:30 pm on weds,but that puts u back in bfe and thats a twenty to thirty min walk and u pass tent only after u walk up this big assed hill
Good to see folks from LA and MS going (LSU grad here).
I am coming in from Houston and me and my buddy are leaving Tuesday morning-ish. Our plan is to stop and stay the night in MS...reason being so we can get a hotel at a casino and gamble Tuesday night. Then head on to Manchester on Wednesday. We'll either be staying at the WalMart or at a friend of a friend's house in Manchester.
So...my question to you MS guys - where would you suggest staying casino/hotel wise in MS? Somewhere that's basically on the way and has a decent casino. Any suggestions?
I'm heading out from N.O. So far it's just me. So if anyone's interested in a convoy let me know. Kenny Rogers rocks.

I am travelling from Kenner with one person. We will probably leave thursday morning. Although time and travelling companion are subject to change.
It's strange you mention Kenny Rogers(the singer?). I have a connection to Kenny. He sent me a bunch of his clothes when I was in Nashville after Katrina.
boogfoot, try the Ameristar casino and hotel..hotel is across the street from casino,and they have a shutle to and from..another plus is the bottleneck blues club is at the casino..vicksburg,ms first exit in ms on i20e...if you go i10e can't say about the coast.....smurf?

M&B - Muchas Gracias for the tip. It's been YEARS since I was in MS (my college buddy's dad used to be the police captain in Biloxi), so I wasn't sure what was up and running since Katrina. We'll definitely have to check out the Ameristar.
You'll have to come check us out in the RV parking area if you can, I plan on bringing some homebrew for 'Roo. Just rewards for the tip!
boog... if you're on I-10, we've got the Beau Rivage, Imperial Palace and Boomtown, they're all about 10 minutes south of I-10 in Biloxi...I'm partial to the Beau, but the IP is pretty hot too.... If you guys come thru this way let me know! oh...and i forgive you for being an LSU grad.....

yea now i need a ride of course three days after i buy my roo ticket my car breaks and all of my friends cars are full but i MIGHT have found a ride with a friend of a friend i hope
