Best set of the weekend, in my opinion. I thought it was even better than the Chemical Brothers set I saw last weekend.
Am I the only one that thought the sound quality was hit and miss all weekend long? Sound bleed at the main stages (rock and riot) was particularly bad, with the rebel/rise stages running parallel and the roots stage pointing directly at them.

Yeah the sound bleed coming from the Roots stage was awful all weekend, particularly while trying to watch shows at the Riot stage. Other than that I really liked the layout, very easy to get from stage to stage.

Had a really good time at Riot Fest, thought the layout was really simple and easy to navigate, stayed away from the fair/carnival section. Really enjoyed the set from System of a Down from middle of the pack crowd and everyone back there was pretty chill and singing along. Sucks that peeps were being idiotic up front and I can't recall the last time I saw a band had to pause the show due to what they were seeing in the crowd. Merle into Idol into SoAD was a really entertaining and unique trio. The Prodigy, L7, Tenacious D, and Rodrigo y Gabriela Sunday back-to-backs was the best part of the festival weekend. I attended the West Memphis 3 panel and although hosted by long winded Henry Rollins and his initial stereotypical insults of my home state of Arkansas, was an entertaining discussion.
I was prepared for the mud and rain gear wise so no issues. Every moment I was at the fest had beautiful weather. People watching was great. Can't imagine why Douglas Park couldn't be a long term home for the festival with the exception of neighborhood residents who don't like to be inconvenienced. Pink line/blue line to Rosemont was a lengthy and crowded ride but worthy over driving and parking or hoping for Lyft/Uber/taxi.
Adrian Younge just announced he and his band Venice Dawn will be backing Wu-Tang. VERRRRRRY excited to see how Wu with a live band -- especially one as cinematically funky as Younge's -- will turn out.

The Wu show in Edmonton scheduled for tonight just got canceled (reportedly due to lack of members) so this'll suuuuure be interesting to see who turns up at RiotFest. RZA will be in town to promote a movie he's in (Mr. Right) at the Toronto Film Fest, so I assume he's a lock. Wouldn't be shocked if it's just RZA, GZA and a band. And of course, U-God.
