Here's my final revision of my clashfinder. Purple is must see, yellow is high priority, green is regular.
I have taken the Monday after off, and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions of what to do or where to explore for the one full day we have.
Depends on where you stay/ when you wake up, but for one day I'd suggest:
Parc du Mont-Royal for some nice views of the city
Schwartz's for lunch (gotten a bit "tourist-trappy" with the prices, but still really delicious if you like/ have never had a montreal smoked meat sammich)
Walk south east along Saint Laurent towards China Town/ Basilique Notre-Dame to see some cool graffiti
Basilique Notre-Dame (old Montreal)
Continue walking down towards Rue de la Commune/ the boardwalk for some nice views of Ile Sainte-Helene (aka. the island where Osheaga takes place)
If there's time and you want to get drunk, I'd also suggest checking out La Distillerie to get a Castro Flambe. Tasty as fuck, they light it on fire, and it's pretty much 100% booze (pubdistillerie.com)
I saw Nas once a while back with Damien Marley, but he absolutely killed it up there yesterday. No backing vocals, no hype man, no filler; just him, a mic, and a beat. Kendrick was unreal as well. Those to performances are the top two rap shows I've ever seen by a large margin. Rest of the day was awesome too. Weezer played all the hits as expected. Saturday was supposed to be the weaker day for me, but I had way more fun that day one. Stoked for today!

Ill post a full write up eventually but holy shit,this fest was a lot of fun. I saw so many more great acts in comparison to other fests Ive been to (looking at you Firefly)

I'll keep this short so people will actually read it:
Favorite Full Sets:
1. Father John Misty: Holy shit he is great live. I left Glass Animals a little early to get a good spot, and honestly wish I left earlier. FJM had the best stage prescence of any performer all weekend imo and his banter was hilarious. Also, being a huge stan of his music didn't hurt.
2. Caribou: I made the hard decision to skip Kendrick for Caribou but it was definitely worth it. After watching one Kendrick song (Money Trees) I walked over and into a surprisingly small crowd and got a great spot. Everyone there was loving it (at least where I was standing). They are definitely a very talented group of musicians, and all the improv on stage went over very well.
3. Hot Chip: Although a lot of people up front (where I was) were waiting for altj and talked a lot, I still loved their set. Hot Chip is still one of my favorite groups to this day their shows are always great. Although they were slightly better at Gov Ball (probably because they played longer) they were still fantastic.
4. The Decemberists: All my friends went to 21Pilots so I went to this one solo, but it was 100% worth it. Colin's singing was indistinguishable from his singing on their albums. Although they only had 50 minutes, they had a phenominal set.
5. Alt-j: After Hot Chip my group rushed the stage and ended up with a fantastic spot (about 5 people back from rail). Luckily, we could watch Ed Sharpe from the side who had a great set and brought a man in a wheelchair on stage, which was touching. Although they're kinda boring on stage, the music still sounded great and the lights looked great.
6. St. Vincent: After seeing her at the lawn at the Sesquehanna Bank Center, I knew I had to get close for this one. She shreds holy hell. My friends, who have no idea who she is, absolutely loved thuis set, as did I.
7. Weezer: They played the hits like they normally do, but my drunk friends and me knew all the words and it proved to be a good time. Still no Pinkerton though...
8. ScHoolboy Q: It was hard to muster the strength to skip Florence but I had to see the man who got me into Hip-Hop. Although he's not the absolute best on stage, I really enjoyed this set. Him playing MAAD City was definitely a highlight.
9. Run the Jewels: As per usual, they killed it. The crowd was wiling in the hot sun as was I. This would be higher up if they didn't only have 45 minutes and if my Ray bans didn't get destroyed in the pit.
10. Interpol: They're are very good on stage. I wish I knew more of their music before I saw them (Only know Turn on the Bright Lights).
Other Full Sets: Tyler the Creator, Young the Giant, Edward Sharpe, Future Islands, Stars, Daphni, The War on Drugs, Grace Potter
Partial Sets That I Should have stayed at:
* FKA Twigs: Really wish I stayed for all of this. I left for RL Grime, which was fun, but not nearly as good.
* Iron & Wine with Ben Bridwell: Not worth leaving this early to get close for RTJ, because I would have gotten a good spot anyway. Only saw two songs which was a shame.
I have loved Edward Sharpe every time I have seen them and was going to go see them tonight... However, I sold my tickets after a friend was texting me during their Osheaga set about how horrible they were. He said, Alexander's voice was out so he had random people come up on stage; first girl was good; then some really high guy got up there and started yelling "I love Vermont!" and then pausing and yelling "i like Canada too!" then pausing again "yo this is the greatest day of my life" pause again "ALEXANDER ZEBRA YOU ARE THE GREATEST!" ... Yeah sounded pretty horrible. Made $50 selling my ticket for tonight though!

I had an unreal time this weekend I must say! Had a huge crew of people from home, and others almost totaling 50 people. There was no shortage of friends to see a set with. I've been to Parc Drapeau before (Heavy MTL '12, Arcade Fires last show of the Reflektor tour) so I had a general idea of what to expect in terms of the venue. The stage setup is pretty great if you want to pack a lot of sets into one day. You can get a decent spot in the middle on the rail and have a fantastic view of River and Mountain stages. Valley, Green, Tree stages are all near each other too. The hill was also an amazing spot to take in a headliner or any other act who attracted a huge crowd you couldn't get close for. Took in Alt J, Florence and Kendrick from back there. We had one hell of a party dancing and jumping around on the picnic tables during Kendrick. Mos Def appearance was cool and getting to go nuts during King Kunta with our massive crew was something I'll never forget.
Best 10 sets of my weekend were RTJ, Stars, Avett Brothers, Florence (of what I got to see), Interpol (aftershow) St. Vincent, Nas (that rain storm made it so much better), Kendrick, Father John Misty, Black Keys. It was really great dragging some of my friends along to St Vincent and Father John Misty and having them get their minds blown. It's almost my favorite part of festivals. I have to say, Decemberists were a huge let down. Really disappointed with that set. They didn't seem to give a shit at all about being there.
The water lineups were almost always minimum 20 minutes. Once I got up to a water easily, but for the rest of the weekend the lineups were cracked. The worst lineup of all was the Metro when trying to leave. Unless you left early, or you waited around for a long, long time, you had at LEAST an hour wait jammed into a crowd tiptoeing your way out. Bit of a buzz kill after having amazing days. We killed time on Saturday after Kendrick by hanging out on top of the hill singing Kendrick tunes in a circle. That was outrageously fun! Maybe some of you caught that
Totally check this fest out if you've ever been on the fence or curious. The people sure as shit aren't like the folks at Bonnaroo, or some of the other festivals I've been to, but the city, artists they tend to book make up for that.
Guess I might as well post my thoughts on sunday. I made the tough decision to skip Future Islands for Sylvan Esso and man I am glad I did. Possibly the best set of the weekend, I wish I had enough energy to go to the after party. I had no idea the bass would be that heavy. Toro y Moi was a major disappointment. I had seen him a few months ago and was hoping his Osheaga would be better but it was considerably worse. He started off with technical difficulties which I understand were out of his control, but he could have at least addressed the crowd and told us to hang in there or something. Once he got up and running they just didn't sound great. Much of the intricacies and small details were lost to distortion or simply left out. Sounded like a middle school talent show cover of him vs the actual thing. Brand New was a ton of fun as I was expecting, but I was surprised there was very minimal moshing compared to Boston Calling. Canadians must be too polite. Edward Sharpe was fantastic. Alt J was good, but I just felt something was missing from the performance. Finally, the Black Keys absolutely killed it. Left a bigger fan than I went in.

I felt the same way as at any other show i would just pushed up to the pit and people will gladly push you ahead to get away from it. After a couple songs in, I seen no action up there and was kinda bummed since it wouldn't feel like a normal Brand New show to me. (or any Emo/Harcore/Emocore ...Whatever they call it concert.) I finally seen it and tried to make my way politely to the pit but I don't think half of them knew what a pit was lol. I caught a canadian girl saying "what a fucking asshole aye", lol she really made me feel like that American asshole invading these Canadians fun. All in all I enjoyed the show up in the congested pit because every time one of us tried to open it up they just tried we were falling. Sorry Canadian people who I pushed.

This makes me glad I got close for Hot Chip instead of going to Toro y Moi. I love him but I wouldve been disappointed in his show because his Philly solo show was great.
