So this year I am planning on going to roo with a couple of friends. I am 16 and we have one friend who is 21. If she comes along, will our car be searched more severe than others. I also would like to know if we will be carded or cannot bring any alcohol if we are with her.

You should be fine. Make sure all the alcohol is not in glass and not anywhere where the driver could access it. Safest bet is the trunk. Seriously though, any glass will be taken away. Hope this helps.

Be strong; this may be a bumpy ride for you. Hopefully the mods put this in the right place.
Check out the "That Tent" section; lots of threads on the camping / checkpoint thing.
Good news for anyone worried about a search: there are no druuugs at Bonnaroo. As far as alcohol, I dunno. What they don't see gives no reason for seizure.
Yeah if you accidentally bring any negativity just take some time to relax by yourself. Because I know sometimes at Bonnaroo my brain can overload on being social all the time. But I'd make a priority list or something of things you can afford/physically be able to pack in your car. I also don't think you'll be searched more severely there's a lot of young people at Bonnaroo. I actually don't know the alcohol rule though....just glass....OH YEAH WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T BRING GLASS!!!!
bring lots of water. and sunscreen. and an ez up. and healthy snacks. bring Cheez-its. snacks or water that you can share are a great way to get in the spirit and meet friends. bring a smile, lots of hugs and an open mind.

And thegreat bring an avatar. Nothing to do with getting into Roo but folks around these parts are suspicious of amorphous grey humanoids hanging out in front of clouds. Weird I know.

Yeah, don't give Rory an excuse to bring up his avatar theory again, please

Do not transport illegal substances across state lines.
Also, try to google "Inforoo [insert topic]" first before creating new threads. Odds are, your question has already been discussed. Don't be afraid to restart the discussion in already existing threads.
Depending on your financial wellbeing, a shit ton of food.
I used to always bring way more food then I'd ever eat. Fact of the matter is, if you can afford one good meal in centroo per day, just bring some high calorie breakfast meals for 4 days.
Now I've just brought in fruit, granola bars, high output foods like avocados into centroo. This usually gets me through lunch (4pm). When I'm hungry laterñ usually after a headliner, then I buy something. My morning is usually spent with a iced coffee under a tree, then go back to the tent and sleep more, before making some bacon and eggs.
Before Bonnaroo, look around Inforoo and you will find a ton of useful (and some usleless too) info about Bonnaroo on what not to bring, cheap supplies and where to get them, possible lineups, camping ideas, and many other things.
At Bonnaroo, you will be prepared by doing the above.

More to to the point, bring a tent. Bring a canopy (check Sam's Club, a number of them have a canopy on closeout for $35.) Bring beer. Bring boxes of wine (noontime Slap Bag is epic). Bring protein based breakfasts. Anything else you want... well, Hunter Thompson put it best: You don't go looking for it. It finds YOU when it thinks you're ready.

I actually always wear some old athletic shoes that I don't really care about. Keeps my feet dry and I don't have to worry about people stepping on my toes.
I bring them for certain times. I wear shoes for a lot of the walking part of the day, but when I've settled down for a nice long wait at a stage, I reach into my pack and pull out my years old flip flops and put them on so my feet can breath.
I have never had any type of heavy search and have never had anything taken. As others have said glass is the big thing. I saw a car in front of me have about 20 of those starbucks coffee's dumped out as they were in glass. I also think it helps to have a female driving in (eye candy) but that may not be true. Just don't be nervous and have a smile on. Neither of which are hard to do. I honestly think the drive there is more stressful then the search. You will see a lot of cars pulled over and they get a FULL search. Everything thrown out on side of road and dogs. So drive the speed limit.
Key things. Tent, Ez-UP, Sunblock (I prefer spray for easy reapply), Munchie food (any time we bring actual food it isn't eaten. The food there is fantastic and not expensive), A smile, and comfortable but not smothering shoes (I don't recommend boots or anything like that. I like kicking my shoes off whenever I can and going bare foot. Sanuks are fantastic.), Almost forgot Toilet Paper. That last one is and absolute necessity.
Have Fun. AND PLEASE DON'T LITTER. This has gotten bad in recent years. There are trash, recycling, and compost bins everywhere.
My first year all 4 of us were 18-20 years old. We had lots of beer in the trunk. No one got carded or anything. I was slightly nervous about that too. As long as there's no glass like everyone has said you'll be fine. Last year we had a glass fifth of vodka that we planned to dump into a gallon jug prior to getting in line at the gates. Stupidly, we forgot. They just let us make the exchange right at the gate. Also with other things, what ever you need you can find inside. We were searched very thoroughly with 5 squad cars and a k9 on 24 outside of Clarksville. We didn't have anything illegal, but there is a chance you can get pulled over. We were going 3 over the speed limit so they will find any reason. Best to just be smart about everything. And have a great time at your first Roo!
Just pull up wearing plaid, looking like a boring square and they'll take a glance in your trunk without moving anything around, and send you onward.
^ it's worked for me three years, with 3 people in the car, 2 people, and this past year 4 people.
This is th truth. The last time I arrived at the security checkpoint the car in front of me was getting torn apart. After that check was done and mine was about to start, the guy who u guess was supervising all of this walked up to the volunteer and sympathized with him about how busy things were getting. He then told the checker that you could just look at me and tell there was nothing to worry about and waived me through without even a glance into the vehicle. I don't know if I should feel insulted about that or proud.

You're perpetuating the myth, you should be overwhelmed with pride! I always had easy searches in GA caused by (I assume) my appearance. In VIP last year, I pulled up and found five search stalls, four with cars stacked up. On instinct, I pulled into the fifth slot and parked the car. We sat for a couple minutes, without anyone acknowledging us. I finally started the car back up and pulled to the next gate which I now lovingly refer to as the hugs, high fives and area maps stall. While conversing with this crowd and exchanging hugs and high fives, a security guard approached my car scratching his head and finally says "Hey..... did we search you back there?" I looked back at the search row, and responded "you mean that security search? Yes, we were searched thoroughly."
Given, everyone in security and in the high fives line had seen what I did, one even smirked at me as I confirmed the search. The pimple faced security guard stopped, gave me what I assume was an ocular patdown, turned his scowl to a smile and said "well WELCOME TO BONNAROO!" - and put his hand up for a five.
I know this will never happen again, and will elect to find sand at the beach on the chance I get more thoroughly acquainted with security procedures this time.
