Intentionally not an option. You could literally find someone to make that argument for every single band. If you think they should headline but wouldn't, vote "no". But this question is assuming they'd be on the farm
I love Rush, I've seen them 3 times and it's been great every time. One of my all time favorite bands. I was born at the same hospital as Neil Peart (just thought I'd throw that in). I would love for them to headline, but their fan base is a weird one, you either love them or absolutely hate them. Being from Canada, they are on the radio constantly. My parents and my sisters hate them, so growing up I would play them really loud. Today's Tom Sawyer mean mean pride dun dun dun dun!!!!!!!!!!!

I just want to watch the crowd of people seeing Rush for the first time.
On the last tour, they played side A of 2112. The tour before that was the Time Machine Tour when they played all of Moving Pictures. I'm not sure what they can do on this tour to top that, but I'd love to see them try.
I'd just love to hear them play 2112 at bonnaroo so I can hear "Attention all planets of the Solar Federation: We have assumed control. We have assumed control. We have assumed control." blasting over the field.

So true Mojo. Just to see Mr. Peart playing drums alone will blow some of their minds.

Last year I had a job interview with a judge. He looked at my resume and noticed that on the bottom I listed "music" as an interest/hobby. His first question was "do you like Rush?"
I told him that I've never heard of Rush. I didn't get the job.

You got exactly what you deserved...
Also, this thread is seriously lacking Rush

I think they'd get the same billing/slot Tom Petty had in 2013.
I think Petty and Elton have a lot more popular appeal than Rush. All the jam bands that have headlined Sunday except maybe The Dead didn't though, so yeah, Rush Sunday if they're booked. I don't really think Bonnaroo would want to book them as headliners, but I'm usually wrong.

I'm not so sure they would be an unopposed headliner. I could see them fitting in allot better with a Saturday late What stage performance which would ultimately lead to some of the worst conflicts I've ever faced so far.

A 3hr LN What show? That'd be insane! They're way too old to be up that late
I know they have a big fanbase and still play arena shows and all that, but at this stage would they really be big enough to headline Bonnaroo and play unopposed? They just strike me more as the band that gets the Buffalo Springfield/Beach Boys/Lionel Richie slot, at best.

I think the difference is that with the recent HOF induction and resurgence into pop culture, Rush might be more "popular" now than they've ever been. They still have the dedicated fan base, but this might be the first time they've had more casual fans
