One of my biggest festival regrets was leaving Darkside for Disclosure at Moogfest. Disclosure was good and Jessie Ware came out, but still.
Funny you say that. The first time I saw Darkside was in Austin and Disclosure had a show that night too. I entertained the thought, ever so briefly, to go to Disclosure instead. I had just discovered Darkside a few weeks before, so their majesty hadn't fully sunk into my brain at that point.
When I walked out of the venue that night, there was ZERO doubt I made the right decision. Darkside did something to my brain that night...
Yea I had planned to do it like that. Start at Darkside then go to Disclosure. Darkside was too good, I should have scrapped the plan and stayed.
Hey, you gotta pick your battles. I have a very strict Friday schedule that I'm not very open to changes on so I gotta give my friend a break on the other days. I'll still do my best to see koze tho.
Bigger conflict for me now is Koze/ice cube/rufus. Not sure how that split will work yet. And do i leave gnr to see any of zhu?
Cube was cool but Dre being there would have made it so much better. I just felt like he was billed too high (in comparison to other festivals) for him not truly reuniting NWA. He had the same members come out at Riot Fest and quite a bit of his set seemed WAY too self promoting(i.e. Common's appearance and his son's appearance). Snoop playing The Next Episode was just twisting the knife of Dre's absence. Overall I enjoyed it and it's worth checking out if you really like him but if you love Koze and Rufus see them

Can I ask - what would a Dr. Dre appearance have accomplished? Would people have somehow been more excited if he stood there and pretending to play beats? He rapped on like three NWA songs, and not the ones that most people would care about.

Though this is true and I understand (and yes I read that CoS article too) but he was a major part of the production and is still to this day one of the best producers of all time. His last album was overall well received by fans and critics alike and he is the only other member besides Cube to actually stay relevant decades after NWA has broken up. Mostly Cube shouldn't have pranced around saying that he was reuniting NWA for Coachella when in fact he did it half a year ago in the same way. I also would sleep a little better at night because I was not able to attend in 2012

Say what?
Specifically N.W.A., as the legendary gangsta crew opted not to perform after their recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and delivered a crushing blow in Indio, instead, with Yella and Ren joining Cube for takes on “Straight Outta Compton” and “Fuck the Police” that were nearly as incendiary as the original recordings. Seeing Dr. Dre at their side might’ve been nice, but what would he have done exactly? Pretended to DJ?
I'd like to redirect you all (Fozzie Bear ) to the Panorama thread for alternative means of fun.
Now if I was a west coaster (crazykittensmile ), I would be all over FYF.
Don't tempt me so! I was set on going to P4K as they've got Brian Wilson, but overall I probably like Panorama's lineup more due to Despacio, solid house music, the goddamn incredible headliners, and Sia. Ughhhhh...
