Just confirmed in person that one band I've been obsessively fanboying about for a year is booked and playing Yuma. And also playing Governors Ball. They werent sure on Bonnaroo.
The gov ball booking is promising, the ball is in Roo's court right now.
I really think you guys overestimate their popularity. If they were in the Gobi, it'd be early in the day. They'll probably be a later Yuma set.
It wasn't a popularity thing from my angle, more that they just seemed like a weird fit. Do they play just straight up DJ sets? I wasn't aware of any other acts with live instrumentation ever playing in the Yuma, which is where my skepticism was coming from.
My thoughts exactly. They have a live guitarist who sings as well. Mid day sets in the Gobi can get very moody and "deep" with those chandeliers and side tent panels closed - definitely makes for a cool atmosphere that would suit them nicely.

We discussed this. They were even told they'd be the first live act to ever play Yuma. I think their sound definitely fits in the Yuma. Though it'll be weird as they've even recently introduced live projection visuals behind them, as well as a keyboard, so not sure if they'll just put it on the DJ stand. It definitely won't be a DJ Set though.
Boring because it was kinda assumed that they would be there? Boring because of the delivery of the scoop? Or boring because you don't like the band in question.

All except the latter. I'm indifferent to them playing, which makes it a boring scoop.

Would be shocked if she played with the Staples center show.
If I had to guess I'd say the tour manager was trying to get her into Coachella, booked dates around it but couldn't make it happen. But still, the dates are strange.

Almost as strange as the two weeks Iron Maiden still have WIDE open.

Major Lazer
“We’ve got a little more gas in Major Lazer,” says Diplo. “We’ve got another single coming out. We’re reissuing that album…Then we have a new album we’re going to put out next year around August or September and a single around Coachella with The Weeknd, so that’s going to be dope.”

Taylor Swift's boyfriend, Fat Axl, 21 Pilots, Major Lazer... You do realize that if this didn't have the name Coachella on it, you guys would be ripping it apart right?

that was convenient to leave out lcd soundsystem.
as well as Black Coffee, Bob Moses, Dubfire, Field Music, Four Tet, Gary Clark Jr, goldroom, Jean-Michel Jarre, Rhye, St Germain, The Kills, Savages and maybe Beach House and Tortoise.

lol they were horrible when Governors Ball booked them 3 years ago. Replacing the backing band with guys in their 50s is not going to suddenly make it fucking great. But hey Use Your Delusion
i bet they were s great get when gov ball booked their not original lineup

I'll be charitable here and point out that you thought AC/DC was a shitty booking too, and they too were awesome. So maybe this genre just isn't your cup of tea? I saw Axl a couple times during the dreadlocked Euro 2006 tour and he was great, and I'm pretty confident he can get in that form again with a little bit of financial motivation.

Wait, Slash being old is a problem, but you just bought tickets to see Sabbath?
You're trying way too hard to pretend this lineup is looking shitty. 21 Pilots blows, but otherwise the rumors are solid (and Calvin Harris may not be there at all).
