Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I'm guessing more stage additions this week. Just because in my mind it makes sense for them to alternate weeks between stage and other things like comedy and cafe acts.
I'm really just hoping for Father John Misty. He has a gap between 6/7 until he goes to Europe 6/26. Fingers crossed!
Thought Viet Cong was more popular but they have less than 10k likes on FB. Would they get a Cafe stage if added?
Edit: As a hardcore Jurassic Park fan, it makes me sad that Jurassic World will be premiering the same weekend. I'm hoping to catch a sneak peek screening, but I hope Roo screens the first JP movie in its honor.
It'd be kickass if they played JP, LW, AND JP3 B2B2B in honor of JW. But, what I'm REALLY hoping for is a JW premier at Roo because I too am a huge Jurassic Park fan. Finding out that JW is being released during roo seriously made me question going to Bonnaroo more than anything else ever has, haha
Also, I think Viet Cong could maybeeeee fit as a cafe act
I would not hold out for a major release premier at Roo. They tend to do that more with small movies where they can get filmmakers to come for a Q&A. (Think: The Way Way Back)
I'd check out the new JP movie myself - conflicts permitting - but I would put the odds of it around that of another Jurassic era artist being added, the Rolling Stones.
I feel like I'm the only person in my group of friends that thinks the new JP movie looks abysmal based on the trailer. I'm trying to hold onto hope, though.

I don't have a lot of hope for it. It seems a lot of people liked Pratt riding alongside the velociraptors. I was just like "the fuck?"

I thought that was the stupidest shit I've ever seen. What happened to it being about science and the extent to which man should use it? I mean, even the third one tried to keep it somewhat believable even if it was a little cheesey. JW just seems to be going for straight up cheese.
"Depends on what kinda dinosaur they cooked up in that lab."

You're right, it's much more likely that we get a JW premier with Colin Trevorrow doing a Q&A afterward. Good call, thanks, now I'm even more excited!!! Funny enough though, I'm already gonna see the Stones the day before going to Roo, which I would've said was almost as unlikely as JW at Roo. If I could get The Rolling Stones, Bonnaroo starting, and Jzw premier in the course of 3 days, I just might did of enjoyment
I'm going into that movie with low expectations... My praise is theirs to win, but I'm not holding out for a blockbuster over here.
Depends on your definition of blockbuster. I think it'll be a blockbuster in the sense that a lot of people will pay money because Chris Pratt is in it. Then you'll have people like me who will go see it because it's Jurassic Park, but knowing that it probably won't be that great. I hope to be pleasantly surprised. Jurassic Park was my #2 favorite thing as a kid after Godzilla, and last year the Godzilla remake blew my expectations out of the water. Hopefully this will do the same thing. Granted, I knew Godzilla would be good after seeing trailer #1...
Also, let me just clarify that my excitement for the new movie stems from getting to relive my childhood with the films. The first two films are outstanding with an obvious drop off in quality in the third film but it was still really enjoyable IMO. It's gonna be awesome to see a JP movie with such high quality graphics

My son is super excited for this movie. He would watch Jurassic Park when he was a toddler to go to sleep to. It was his most favorite movie ever. He dressed up like a dinosaur all the time and would 'rawr' at you. It was super cute. And for the record, when I say toddler, I mean he was like 2 yrs old...a toddler. My mom would give me shit for letting him watch.

That's awesome, I used to watch it around that age. But I was born in '94 so I didn't get to experience the original hype with the first one. But after I found that movie, I became obsessed, by the age of four I knew the names of damn near every dinosaur in that film AND THEN they released the second movie and I about lost my god damn mind, hahaha. Anyway, JP is one of the biggest reasons I became interested in science so much at a young age and really gave me a drive in school because if it was ever possible to do something as kickass as making dinosaurs, I knew that only the elite would be able to get involved in that so I made it my goal to be a part of that group if the time ever came. Which is quite ironic given the actual point of the movie being to question how far we should go with science but 4 year old Fore obviously didn't realize that, unsurprisingly

I'm going on the personal blockbuster thinking with that... Yes, JP was my #1 anything as a kid. It'll be a big movie...I'm just not ready to believe it'll be way good.

Well Kyle was born in 1998, he would watch all three, but the first one was really his favorite. I am not sure if that is what made him interested in science, but he is in the Robotics club and got invited to this really awesome engineering and robotics forum this summer. Of course it is costing me an arm, leg, teeth and my soul to get him there. There our outdoor movies here in New Orleans, and they are screening the original one outside the Museum of Art (NOMA), when I told him I thought we was going to explode he was so excited. I can't believe he still loves that movie that much.

Very nice, that's how I am about the movie. I have verizon Fios as my tv service and I have a million movie channels and most of the time the original is in the rotation of movies that get played multiple times each day and if I look at the guide and the original is on, I watch it, no exceptions, idc how far into the movie it is or what else is on, I watch Jurassic park every time. Haha, I wish my town would do the movie thing like NOLA does, we have a local, historic theater that does movies a couple days a week but it's over priced.

Yeah the movie thing is cool, and free, which makes it even better! Problem is, it can be hotter than balls sometimes. Luckily, the JP viewing is early May, so it might not be balls hot. We went and saw Goonies last year in August outside... it was like 95 with 90% humidity, even though it was early evening.

Oh yeah, I bet. I live in Central Florida so I definitely know a thing or two about it being too hot 24/7
I completely forgot about the superjam, which has still yet to be announced. Are we still rolling with the basement tapes idea?
I am set on the basement tapes idea and I think many others are as well. The biggest question to me is whether it will be strictly the original Basement Tapes OR all New Basement Tapes material OR a mixture of the two OR will they just do a Bob Dylan super jam with NBT acting as the core for the group OR will it be an NBT core performing some of the rock music from the same era as the original Basment Tapes.
While I would enjoy any of those options I'm hoping for one of the last two options or a straight through performance of the original Basment Tapes. OR something out of left field. I have no idea what that could be, but I'm sure they would come up with something kickass. But, I mean, Jim James hosting a Bob Dylan SJ... THAT sounds amazing
What makes us think Grateful Dead? (which might I add resounding yes to that idea!!) And where is John Mayer coming from??
The argument against MMJ > Mumford > NBT makes total sense and if NBT doesn't happen, I think this will be the main reason why.
Dont nut listen to him on John Mayer, the host of the SJ is always someone who is performing on the Farm in some form aside from the superjam and John Mayer isn't on the lineup. Also, Grateful Dead would make sense because it's the 50th anniversary but I highly doubt it'll happen
I really hoping for that New Basement Tapes superjam, especially because it looks like it's out of the question for Newport now. But the only way I see it happening is if they have a break between Mumford and the SJ. So if we get D'angelo > SJ it could work. Which would be a pretty amazing night

some random blogger was tossing around the idea claiming there would be a GD themed super jam at Roo, but it was a sourceless claim. But it would make total sense for bonnaroo to do something like this given the hysteria around GD50, not to mention the countless bonnaroo friendly talented musicians that already know all the songs anyway.
