Will this be back? This is my first year attending and this was one of the things I wanted to experience most. Obviously they won't be showing world cup games but I dig the music.

The best part was when Skrillex managed to host a mandatory 80,000 person dance off after sunrise! Given, the other 74,000 attendees who weren't at kalliope were actually enjoying it from their tents, EZs...
I can't believe I really haven't seen complaints about how loud it was. Most people didn't mind. I am one of them. Usually by the time I hit my tent I am so worn out I will pass out easily. That is until the sun turns the tent into an oven at about 10am. I really hope they bring it back as I love the idea of music going pretty much none stop. I don't really know of any other festivals that offer this. Even dance festivals like Mysteryland stopped the music around 2am (with the exception of a small dj by the camp.)

Whomever was in charge of showing the World Cup matches last year did a nice job. Other thatn that, all I can say about the Kalliope "stage" was that it was loud. I'll have no use for it this year, but to each his own. It didn't seem that bad for people who didn't like it, and it did not ruin Bonnaroo, despite our fears.
"With 70,000 watts of bass-ful bliss and an unforgettable light show filled with cryogenics, lasers and serial beams, this stage is yours for the taking."
I'm so happy to see it'll make a return. Glad I have other options at 4am besides the xmas barn for another year.
The Xmas barn is so efffffing bizarre, even in the state I was in at 4 am on Saturday night, that shit was too weird for me. Stayed like maybe 3 minutes.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Yeah Santa rapping at 4am after a "fun" night can be hard to handle. But that air conditioning is usually exactly what I need.

I missed out in 2014. So how does this Kalliope thing work? Do they just drive around late at night through the campgrounds with various guest DJ's spinning?

I liked to stand 15 ft from it front and center. Can't imagine bass ever being more intense than that. Didn't drive around.

The stage stayed in one spot while there was a DJ. The setup of the stage was tons of bass and a lot of lights with music till the wee hours of the morning. During the day it was used to air the World Cup.

I can't say I enjoyed this Kalliope, when I was trying to sleep in BFE and it sounded like it was next to my head. That said, it was cool to look at. It definitely stayed in one place, but the art cars did move around, I think i remember seeing them driving around with a parade of EDM kids

I went near it, but never went inside. No one told me there were rapping santas and a/c!! now I've gotta go in there this year just to see what the hell yall are talking about lol
I love how people go to a music festival and then complain how music was keeping them awake lmao. earplugs are a thing
I've never beat the sun back to my camp at roo. I wish I could find neighbors that would join us for a change!
the barn is tops! had a ball at the twerk show and all the dance offs lol. the 90's rave was a let down though. luckily going to that put me inline to catch the skrillex set.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.

I'm glad to see the Kalliope return. I know it's not popular with everyone, but I had a blast last year during the times we stopped by the stage, particularly on Thursday night. Watching the lighted parade march through Centeroo that night before the music kicked off was fun. We honestly stayed up a lot later than normal that night, but it was worth it.
It should be mentioned to anyone who wasn't there in 2014, that Skrillex played the kalliope at 6am till 8 am. Not something to expect, but know it's possible that bigger named artists could hit this monstrosity.

Don't worry if someone big plays you are bound to hear about it... from your tent... while you're trying to sleep
