This seems to be one of the biggest perks that I hear about. So can you go in and out of the pit one the set starts? GA pit security wouldn't do a "1 out, 1 in" when people started leaving the pit, so I was just curious if that's how it is at VIP pit too. I'd imagine not but wanted to ask.
My experience is limited, as I only used the pit a few times. During kaskade, the only thing stopping people from getting into the pit was the human wall of dance blocking the entrance. Also, I meant dance-off. Stuff gets real sometimes.
Whereas during the flips show I'm almost certain I saw several tiny people enter and leave the VIP pit. This continues to be a point of debate..
Do the VIP tickets generally sell out quickly? This is my first year going VIP and I'm going on vacation in 3 weeks so I was hoping to purchase tickets after that.

In 2013, the VIP pit entrance to Which Stage was different than 2014. I never saw the pit entrance last year. I had a little argument with the security guy because the entrance we used in 2013 was used as the RLARS entrance. I hope that's fixed this year or maybe someone can steer me in the right direction

The entrance to VIP pit is toward the very front right corner of VIP viewing. You probably didn't see it because it bottle necked there frequently once shows started. I spent time at which LN Thursday trying to get a good idea of how the rail system worked. I advise you to do the same, as its one of the few times in the weekend you will see an empty which and its eerie and amazing and absorbing and sex.

Hi!
Another option to consider is the KOA.
I've camped in GA seven times but for the last two years we've been at the KOA. Pricy? Definitely. It's in the same ballpark as VIP for cost. But how do you put a price tag on shade in the morning? A dip in the pool before breakfast? Limo service to the Coffee Cafe on Sunday morning? Guaranteed space for friends arriving from all over the country? Wednesday setup? etc. No, you don't get any special perks or privileges once you're inside the Arch (actually, you don't get to go through the Arch - the entrance is in the back with no line), but the two in our party who have done both VIP and KOA say that they prefer the KOA.
We got VIP tickets for this year. How does the PIT situation work? Is it easy to walk up last minute and get in? ive only done GA(7 Times) before and waited in the long lines to get into the pit area.

The only pit for VIP is at Which stage, and that is awesome. There are no other VIP pit privileges. The past few years a few people said they got into the pits in tents, but I asked at every tent, and those are not for VIP.

Ive gone to bonnaroo three times. Two GA and One VIP.. and can honestly say its a rip off. Th VIP seating at the What and Which Stage is ridiculous I thought I'd go see Artic Monkeys in Vip and I was too far away to experience anything so I left and went into the pit last minute and got in. Better that The VIP hill with seats. The thursday night buffet was okay and the unlimited beer was cool but thats only one night and the brunch is just little bites totally not worth the extra money. Oh and My tent for VIP camping was useless we were further than when we do GA (tent city)plus the tall grass retained water and BUGS so many BUGS.Bathrooms were nicer but not worth $800 a person. The Inside VIP areas have charging stations that lets you drop off your phone and pick it up later which is great if youre one of those ppl who can live without their phone or doesnt own an external battery. and theres usually chairs, a/c, and ice cream at certain times but again not worth the money. Plus sercurity and the ppl giving tickets at comedy cinema dont give two shits about VIP, and no one was sure where VIP was. I waited to see everything with the VIP band in the GA areas. I saw Janell Monae, Vampire Weekend, and Kanye West all in the pit while all the other VIPers where on the hill. I'll def be doing GA Tents ONly and viewing from the pits.

You mean..... you weren't impressed with the VIP wristband? That's the only reason I'm doing VIP! (sarcasm)
Ice cream and A/C seems worth the money to me. But i really like ice cream and A/C.
And the bathrooms, I can't speak for, but in GA in pod 2 they were nasty. Thankfully I've got a little country in me and wasn't above 'popping a squat' by my car with my car doors opened to eliminate unnecessary pee trips to the portos.
The viewing I'm not really worried about -- if it makes for a better experience and we use it, good. If not, then I'm sure I'll still have a good time. I'm not really a pit kind of gal anyway.

Here is a VIP question. My friend has access issues and has camped in access in the past. Is there a closer access section of VIP for those with access plates or hangers? Thanks in advance.
nerdbyrd I know i should have known better but but we all do stupid things occasionally . But when we camp we have a Canopy just for our personal camping shower and toilet anyways so i can only speak for the bathrooms in centeroo which were nice esp. if you needed to poop.tehehehe but basically i can see an extra $400 for ice cream and a/c. thats what dry ice and the cinema tent are for.

Wellllllll.... we all have different ideas on what's worth splurging for
I did GA last year and had no problems. But this year, doing VIP. While the perks might not be worth it to some, for me and the boyfriend, we have the money and we can justify it so why not.
P.S. Out of curiosity, do you guys dump the toilet or what happens there? I know in a regular camping situation it would be different but I didn't know what you do with the stuff at Roo???

As a former Clean Vibes post show volunteer, if you bring a toilet, please do something with it. Encountering a full toilet that's been baking in the sun...well, I'd rather not do that again.

The question is really is the $900 difference gonna be too much of a burden. For a lot of us, bonnaroo is a big investment in tickets, gas, food, alcohol, and other assorted goodies. I know we spend money on food and alcohol even when we are not at bonnaroo, but do we drink quite so much regularly or spend quite so much as we do on Centeroo grub? I know I don't. $900 almost doubles my total investment. For me it would be a stretch, for others It would be a drop in the bucket.

I was in the pit for Robert Delong.
Thursday night there were varied instances of VIP being let into tent pits. I think there's just general confusion that gets more defined each year.

The Which Stage pit almost pays for the cost alone imo. Last year, we were third row for Chromeo with no wait at all. I saw the crowd in later videos and it was massive. I did the same with Cake and Dr. Dog. It actually made me regret that I didn't see more shows at the Which.
I still don't know for sure if I'm doing VIP this year. But last year was so damn comfortable it's hard to say no.

Like I said, people said they got into those pits, but I was never once able to, and each time was told they were not VIP, so you I guess you got lucky. I was told they were for Roll like a Rockstar people only.

There is def an access section in VIP downonthefarm, I don't know anyone who has used it though.

Last year was my first but we did VIP in an RV. I had just broken my ankle and had an electric wheelchair and a handicap sticker for the rv. We were told the 1st 2 rows closest to the entrance were for access people. We had people next to our RV in a tent because one of them was in a wheelchair. I felt awful running the generator since it's exhaust was next to their tent until I told her she could use our power while running to charge her chair. She actually left us a very nice Thank You note the last day since the only charging station was in the general admission area. We arrived about 2 hours after opening on Thursday and got the last access spot according to the guy that rode with us to our spot, so I wouldn't arrive too late.
went VIP for the first time last year and now my boyfriend, who is usually very frugal and would never splurge on something extravagant such as VIP tickets, says he would only go back if we went VIP based on the bathroom situation alone...

I went VIP and was in the front of the pit for Janelle Monae (didn't care to be there for the other two mentioned) - So your point is invalid.
were you in a separate section in front of the pit? if so how did you get there? that's the confusion for me, why pay so much money and you dont get closer to the stages than GA pit.

Same pit as GA for What. I'm not one that enjoys being right up close for shows. I'm 5'0" so unless I'm literally on the rail, I'd rather be further back so I can see better. Even when I'm on the rail, I get squished, so for me personally, the money I spend for VIP isn't necessarily about the views. It's about the faster entrance (which means faster camp set-up), proximity to Centeroo, lounges if I'm getting overheated, bathrooms with little to no line (not to mention they're air conditioned), and being able to rest in camp and still hear the What stage perfectly. Those are the perks that mean the most to me

The pit at the What stage is definitely GA, no special treatment for VIPs. Only VIP viewing area at What is The Hill.
I'm in agreement that The Hill is not the best place to see a show, but there is something to be said for having a nice view of the stage and sitting in a chair. But if you want to feel the energy you definitely have to get in the thick of the crowd.
I was on the Hill when Kanye started last year cause I was super tired, but 30 seconds into Black Skinhead I jumped out of my chair and ran into GA.
