Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
That's an awesome undercard, but holy shit this fest is expensive considering the size.
$350 for a ticket, plus another $150 for a camping pass. VIP is $150 more per person than Bonnaroo. Damn. I was considering if I could find cheap air fare, but nope.
Great lineup overall especially the undercard. Headliners just seems to be afterthoughts at basically every fest this year so it's not even worth digging into. Not worth the money for the travel and increased ticket price for me personally, but if I lived close I'd 100% be at this fest.
Haha I just cant get in to Umphrees. Watched them at Roo last year and just couldnt do it. To be honest I havent listened to SBTRKT or Odesza really. Chromeo was awesome at Roo last year too.
i think Hot Chip is Electronic dance music as well, are they not? If you're into the non "press play" electronic acts, and arnt familiar with hot chip, maybe you should fix that.
I keep hearing about Hot Chip and how everyone is mad they arent at Roo or Firefly (At least we arent sure about). Add them to my homework

The bottom half of the lineup is stellar and filled with acts that aren't at other festivals. Will Butler, Merchandise, Ought, Nothing, and Ex Hex are all awesome gets

Go listen to SBTRKT. You need to fix this right now. Odesza too, but SBTRKT!
Also, is Chromeo "EDM?" Electronic based, sure, but I wouldn't classify them as EDM as most people identify the term... Idk what I'd classify them as. Electro-funk?
not exactly, no. but someone who likes EDM would likely enjoy them. that, and they're better than glitch mob.

while I love this lineup, I totally agree - sasquatch is such a high price point compared to other festivals of its caliber. is there any reason for this? or is it just because they know they can charge X amount and still get a good crowd?
I've never been, put part of me feels like the view of the gorge might make it worth all the pennies.
Woah. I am a long-time escapee of Harrisonburg, but graduate of HHS (a million years ago). Still have family in the area, and had a nice chat with the lady at the Amish Donut counter since she and my bro & sis all had degrees from Eastern Mennonite U.

It's because they can only fit 30k people in there. They are trying to atleast be competitive to the likes of coachella and bonnaroo on a 1/3 of their crowd.

ahhh, I didn't realize their capacity was so low. interesting - that makes a lot of sense.

I've always heard it explained in terms of their limited capacity. They cap out a bit under 30,000 and can't expand the grounds so charge more to maintain their caliber of lineups. AKA that's business speak for they know they'll sell out so they unchain Harry Henderson and ram ya with his dong as hard as they can. Live Nation got involved a few years back and I think there's some whisperings that the fest has grown greedy since then. BONNAROO SOLD ITS UNBORN CHILDREN TO MTV! RUMPELSTILTSKIN! RUMPELSTILTSKIN! The ticket price would be much easier to swallow if they weren't charging for camping this year/such an insane amount for camping. All that being said, if ya got the pennies then the Gorge is worth it. Incredible venue with an incredible fest.
Here's a pretty cool interview with the dude who runs Sasquatch:

Although I live much closer to Sasquatch than Bonnaroo, last year was my first Sasquatch (after a few almosts). It felt like a small town rodeo compared to Roo. With it's much smaller crowd it is much harder for side stage acts to attract decent crowds. Bob Mould had like 500 people, on the 2nd biggest stage, it felt weird. On the plus side, you can ALWAYS get a damn good spot with little effort. I love scenery and I do appreciate the gorge, but I've always felt it's view/scenery is overrated (I've been to other shows). It seems to get a large "who cares about the lineup, it's the gorge!" Crowd. Many people just sit on the hill and watch the mainstage. Actually, when down near the stage you can't see shit regarding the view. So although it's better than a kick in the ass, it would take a much better lineup than this current $10 bar band bonanza. Check past lineups, its gotten cheaper and cheaper in terms of talent.
I will not be here. Got a job back east for the summer but I do have one tip. Great little weed shop in Ellensburg. Cannabis Central. Good stuff at fair prices.
