Bill Burr on Conan is the hardest I've laughed in weeks. I love Conan, I love bill Burr, together they're hilarious. A lot of times the Conan pod can be somewhat plodding but Barr just is really loose and talks it out like he's just hanging out with a friend. Obviously some good chemistry.
Might watch the bill Burr episodes of mandalorian tonight
Good looking out, thanks. Possibly one of my favorite moments in television ever.
I considered tagging you in the post but I figured it would be redundant haha.
ha yeah i'll naturally find any reference to community on inforoo.
about a half hour into the pod and as usual harmon is great. love hearing him talk about comedy. also loving hearing about his growth as a showrunner and a human. he's the type of personality that could have gone hard into a bad direction but seems like he's become a kinder person.

Oh awesome! I'm excited to listen. I'm saving it for when I can enjoy it this weekend.

Just finished the new comedy bang bang and loved it. Dan Lippert referencing the "real great minds think for themselves" Saturday morning cartoon really hit me. Then him having Gillian Jacobs (one of the best non-character guests on the show) imitate his bill Walton character and throw everything off was so funny. I love all the inside references with will hines setup always getting completely changed and how simple the bill Walton gimmick is. Such a good episode. Would have only been better if PFT could join
i bought the season and watched the episode as soon as i posted this. you also get the entire teacher's lounge catalog with the new season, which will be a necessity for me if they take it off stitcher eventually. the first episode was *ridiculous* and i think it'll be worth the $15 if anyone is on the fence about it.
listened to the first two episodes of a limited run podcast called 9/12 about the immediate aftermath of 9/11.
the first episode is really cool, quite riveting radio really. i recommend it but don't want to say anything about it because it's better to just listen.
episode two is why i started listening, i heard an ad for it. it's about The Onion right after 9/11. they literally had their "we just moved from Madison to NYC" party on 9/10, then 9/11 happened the next day, so on 9/12 they had to decide if they were going to publish a comedy newspaper. obviously they did, and in doing so created some of the funniest and most comforting pieces of written comedy of all time, IMO (this one was a few weeks after 9/11 but is one of their best). personally those articles were really important to me. nobody else wanted to do comedy right away, all the late night shows were serious, the daily show became serious, etc., at least for a while. but then there was The Onion doing fucking 9/11 jokes. it made me feel better in a time when everything else was just fucked up.
one of my fundamental beliefs about comedy is that you CAN make a joke about anything, so long as it's funny. nothing is off limits, you just have to do it right. the onion on 9/12 is proof of that.
in the podcast they did share one of the headlines they pitched they didn't use. i'm really glad they didn't use it at the time, but 20 years later it's hilarious.
i haven't listened to any episodes past the first two.

Fuck. Pretty sure that me using old-ass iTunes as my main music library and FINALLY updating it recently just caused most of my years-long saved podcast episodes to be removed because of syncing and other shit.
I am pretty positive I had meticulously saved (and at previous dates backed up...but not super recent) all Comedy Bang Bangs and Hollywood handbooks and Improv4Humans and How Did This Get Made's.
I still have a good chunk but I'm missing a lot and i'm so disappointed. I haven't torrented anything in a while and don't know if these archives would even be available.
Like...I still pay to have access to the archives of most of these shows for streaming but I like having my own copies as mp3s just in case.

Ah that sucks man. I saved the first, like, 200 episodes of Hollywood Handbook back when you could still download them. It's not everything but it's a start.

I was able to recover a decent amount of files using some recovery tool on the hard drive but definitely not ALL episodes of those two shows. Also lost a bunch of others but those two were the ones I tried hard to keep downloaded and organized. So annoyed.
