I just want to say that Missy fucking killed it and was by far my favorite part of the halftime show. There are very few hip hop acts of her nature (R. Kelly, Busta, etc.) that I'd sacrifice other shows to see... BUT, I'd have to make it to at least part of Missy's set if she were on the farm, no matter who she conflicted with. It'd just be an awesome sing-a-long/dance party.

I know. but that really has little to do with how much i love her and great this show would be. I think all superbowl performers have to sing over a track now due to nipple gate. i dont think that has anything to do with what a real live performance by her would be like.

I wasn't even half-watching (maybe 10% watching), but that much seemed very obvious from the sound alone.
I can sympathise somewhat, though; everything about the Superbowl is the opposite of most performers' working environment. You're playing to 100,000 live and another 150mil or so at home (most of whom aren't fans), there's no time to build a momentum or work the crowd, you have to condense your typical set down to 3-4 songs over 15 minutes - and then it all has to be perfectly choreographed, because sponsors are nervous fans will be too busy tweeting about the next nipple slip to watch the ad they just dropped 5 mil on. It's more forgivable than Ashley Simpson on SNL, anyway.

Alrhoigh I could do this, because I do know all the words to several Missy Elliott songs, I have a strict no karaoke policy. I will watch, dance and egg people on. But I will not sing.

With the halftime show and the news of her being in the studio, if Bonnaroo only added one act this year and it's her I wouldn't even be mad. I need me some Missy.
