Just a helpful tip: if you're going to create a new thread for a festival, it's a good idea to list the dates for reference. This year's dates are August 7-9.
I'm gonna have a hard time passing on OSL this year. Every year, I am more and more tempted to make the cross-continental trek, but this year, I've finally got the time.
What is the best way to do OSL? Nearby hotel? Or save cash and commute a bit? I don't mind walking an hour or so each way. I assume the cab situation is a nightmare.

Just like with any other fest that's in a city, SF itself makes OSL what it is. It's really easy getting around in the city and to the fest relatively cheap with uber, Lyft, Sidecar and all the other taxi services, along with multiple bus lines that also drop you off a few blocks from golden Gate Park. Definitely stay in the city, with your best bet going with an Airbnb, but make sure to book it soon as they will all fill up quickly. There are night shows as the fest ends around 9:30-9:45 each day because it's in a residential area so that's another reason to stay in SF itself. It's also a fun place to explore in the mid mornings and hit up the bars at night. OSL is great with good food, (usually) great lineups and in one of the best cities in the world, just make sure to bring layers as it can get cold in August in the city, especially Golden Gate Park with it being so close to the Pacific.
I have a couple of friends who moved to SF in the last year. Hope today's announcement warrants my first trip out there. If not, there's also Treasure Island or Neil's Bridge School Benefit.

So is this fake? I found it on twitter but there's no word at all from Outside Lands official. Obviously if it was real they get huge points for D'Angelo. But I'm not convinced.

You can tell the first lineup is a fake by how low Huey Lewis & The News is billed on that lineup. If they played Sports in its entirety they would be billed above Elton forsure. Honestly, they are too good for Outside Lands; nobody goes there anymore.

Holy shit, that has to be the biggest top line of of any festival in 2015 yet, right? It dwindles quickly but those are 5 legitimate headliners at any festival.
AC books this too, right? Now I'm gonna be hoping for a D'Angelo addition for Roo.
