You can't underestimate the fact that it is a big time program and his alma mater. If he starts putting up a bunch of W's, Michigan will compensate him with a very large contract until he chooses to retire or move back to the NFL, and with a college program, he has the ability to have more control over the team than he would likely ever get in the NFL. Given all that, I could see him staying a long time if he is successful. Then again, I could also see him leaving because the NFL is more prestigious and such.
First, I doubt Tennessee will get blown out by Oklahoma. I am by now means saying we are going to win, but I do think it will be closer than last year. Second, I believe the majority of the fanbase is not thinking that a W against Oklahoma is a given. The most common prediction I have seen regarding Tennessee this year is 8-4 in the regular season. People know losses are going to happen. They just expect more wins than last year and for the losses to be closer. If you wanted a game where people would start to question Jones more, you would have to look at early rivalry games like Florida because Florida is expected to have such a down year this year and their streak against us is longer than anybody here likes and Georgia because Tennessee has been so close to beating them the last two years or late SEC games like Missouri where it should affect what bowl Tennessee goes to and possibly the SEC East champion since Missouri and Tennessee have been brought up frequently as potential winners of the East.
I didn't realize Cormac McCarthy was a fan of puke orange.
I really like the idea of Dave Maynar somehow typing this comment out on a jankety old typewriter.
i told some of you it was good. wasn't decided until 00:16 of the 4th.
I stayed up way later than I planned to see that one through. I was rooting for the upset but man, Washington's offense basically refused to put a drive together.
Yeah. That's getting used in the headliner thread at some point.
Also, Jesus Christ did SMU collapse like a flan in a cupboard in the second half.
Well I think the GIF shows it started at the end of the first half, but yeah they dropped a turd, I had to switch over to Halo.
Yeah. That gif is specifically from the abomination that was SMU's clock management at the end of the first half. I am sure it's going to get brought up multiple times today. I couldn't believe it happened either.
Scary start of the season for Clemson and Mike Williams. Hope he is ok.
Not as bad as Watson getting hurt, but I remember sang_xcx (and various analysts) expected him to have a huge season this year. It'd be a big blow for the team. Never want to see anyone get injured.

Dabo said he thinks he's alright. It would be a big loss because he's a great wr, but if we're going to have any injuries that is one position where we can afford it.
If Northwestern hangs on, Desmond Howard is going to look like a complete idiot.
What did Howard say? Also, I'm not sure hangs on would be the right phrase. If you were watching this game without knowing who is supposed to be the better team, you'd think Northwestern was the favorite. They've been playing Stanford all game. It's crazy.
