New to Bonnaroo and have a question about the amount of space that will be available for GA camping. We have 3 cars and about 13 people coming in this year. We are looking at getting two (2) of these 12'x12' canopies.
Will that be enough shelter, and will we have enough space in between cars to put these slant-leg canopies up? We will obviously need 12x12 feet available.
If your not split up that should be fine. Do your best to stay together through the line and beg with the traffic volunteers. They ultimately decide where you are placed.
Each car gets a 10x10 space. So, in theory you should have a 30x10 space with three cars. I had a 9x9 canopy I believe in 2013 and a decent sized tent and two cars. We had enough space behind one car for the canopy and enough space behind the other to put the tent sideways so that the opening lead directly under the canopy, I'd that makes sense. We were also on an outside lane back in pod 10 or 11 though. So if I had had a bigger canopy it wouldn't have been a problem. When we parked cars this year they were very strict about the placement and the size of some spots were not large at all. It really depends on the luck of the draw and where you are camped. However, neighbors will usually work with you if you need extra space. Worst scenario just be friendly and talk to them and see how that goes.

Why is the thread title "Will?"
I had the very same question. I was really worried at first that it was someone with a question about what to put in their will.... I guess I have a morbid mind.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
make sure you guys are with each other in the traffic line. honestly you don't need to be all right behind one another, because there are multiple ticket booths as you enter and they will split you up anyway. after you go through th ebooths, just explain to the guys directing traffic you are trying to stay with a group of people, and usually they are pretty cool about it. one year we have a 10 car caravan of ~25 people (way before groop was a thing) and they were pretty cool about it. once you get past the ticket booths, you will be directed to a parking/camping area. at this point, your cars should be in line together. as they directing you to your spot, the front car's driver should let the parking people know how many cars are with him, and if they are cool they will try to be sure you park next to each other. (i also once had the last car in our group get split up and sent to start the next row of cars, which really sucked because we lost a good bit of camping space.
once you are parked, talk to your neighbors, explain your set up/what you are trying to do. sometimes they don't have shade, and so will let you use some of their space to set up your canopy (and in exchange you should share your shade, yo). if they do have shade, its in all your best interests to try to put your shade together, especially if you don't have walls foe your canopy. it increases the shady seating areas, and for that many people, 2 wall-less canopies MIGHT be enough. but with each canopy being ~144 sq ft, and you only having 300 sq ft with the 3 cars, you are going to be squeezed for room, and that isn't even including a sleeping tent (unless ya'll are sleeping under the canopies too)

If actually mean between your group's cars, no, you will probably have enough room to open your doors but that's it. As already said, you will have enough space to set those up, either in front or behind, depending on how you are parked but it will be tight for sure. It all depends on how much space you need for tents. I've been in a group with three cars before, but we had much more space than is currently typical so it was nice, but there were only 5 of us. Car pooling is great, and if you get the right parking attendants you'll be fine, but 3 spots will probably be very cramped for 13 people.
How many tents, and how big? 12x12 slant-leg canopies only give you what, 80-100 sq. feet of shade each? Definitely hang something to shade the sunny side. And be prepared to get real friendly if ya'll all want to be there at the same time. Don't forget the sunscreen.
