Fucking shitty weather got Afropunk canceled this weekend. I've been looking forward to this for three months. It was basically a dream lineup for me....now that dream is ruined. Ruined by shitty fucking weather.
Raining here too. My town is supposed to have a beer fest tomorrow and it looks like it's still on...I'm not beat for drinking in the cold rain but a couple of friends are staying at my place tonight and we already have tickets so it looks like this is happening.
I just want to curl up in a blanket and read a book. Stupid rain.

That sucks!!
Never thought I'd just have an entire festival cancel on me two days before it was supposed to happen. So much potential for amazing things to happen gone, thanks to the rain.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Was going to drive from work tonight to go see Bob Moses, but not sure that's going to happen at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if parts of I-35 going through San Antonio are shut down.

Maybe it'll be postponed?
Would be nice, but not counting on it. I'd be getting my ticket through Jukely, so no real loss of money if I don't go. I know they cancelled all the festivals and stuff in Austin this weekend.
The venue that the show's at is outside, but covered for most of it. It rained when I saw King Gizzard there last month, but nothing like what's going on now.
Still undecided, but probably leaning towards no at this point.

You could always call your new trainee up and go out for a beer instead. Have a nice long chat.

That's a good point. I did have some questions about how we just entered a new cycle as described by the Mayans, which explains all the weather events lately.
And I'm not sure you all fully appreciate how much contact I have with these trainees. We work and live in the same trailer out on location. So I'm trapped with this motherfucker for a few days, he sleeps 3' from me.
There's a hurricane to the south of the Azores. There was also a hurricane in the central Pacific, within 3-5 degrees latitude north of the equator - which that fact alone is pretty rare.
Boots, two pairs of long socks, one pair of undies, long johns, sweatpants, jeans, a t-shirt, a long sleeve shirt, a hoodie, another hoodie, and coat, gloves, hat. It's gonna be windy here today and tomorrow. It's -1 outside right now. Fuckin' a. Let's walk to work.
first snow in richmond. it's in the mid-30s, and a nice heavy flurry.
then I get a text within a richmond friend group text. "I hope it doesn't stick!!" "yeah, same!! if I get stuck and can't drive anywhere for the next 2 days I'm gonna go crazy!!" well, for one, it won't stick because it's going to be above freezing for probably the next 24 hours. and two, my friend who's "afraid of not being able to drive" drives a fucking 4-wheel drive jeep.
I can tell how annoyed I'm going to be by people's reaction to mobility in the snow.

I will be in snowpalooza this weekend. They're calling for a total accumulation of 1-2 feet by nightfall on Saturday in the New River Valley (Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Radford). It is supposed to start in about two hours...both VT and RU has already been announced closed for tomorrow.
The good thing about living in The South is that you can get one snow flake and everything gets closed - work/school. So this is my weather celebration post in the weather complaint thread. No work today!

I'm supposed to be leaving for Nashville today after work for Tool. Going to be a hell of a drive in this blizzard. We may end up waiting to leave until Saturday morning. Of all the days to snow like crazy it had to be the one day that I have to drive 5 hours.
Trade! DC is under blizzard warning starting tomorrow. The forecast is 20 - 30 inches of snow with winds 25 - 30 mph.
yikes
Stay safe and warm up there!
It's been sleetin' since 5am here and our cul de sac is an ice skatin' rink. And it's gonna continue all day and possibly turn into snow overnight last I heard. I like snow well and fine, but ice sucks!

I advise you wait until tomorrow morning.
As of right now this is our plan. It hasn't started snowing here just yet, but I'm sure it's close.
