Hey all! I just saw the news release about the Refill Revolution reusable beer cups..
Has anyone used these before? I'm just wondering where we can buy these and if it's a full size cup. The release says you get a dollar off every beer for the weekend so I wanted to make sure they weren't smaller cups than normal.

I think that they're 16 oz cups and you can get them at the merch tents. They look pretty solid but I rarely drink at the festival anymore so I didn't partake. I'm sure some other Inforooers did, though.
They're regular sized cups, if you're going to be drinking in at least moderate amounts throughout the weekend you'll save money and a dozen or so cups from the landfill. Win-win.

I didn't do Bonnaroo's last year, but I ended up getting one at Rhythm n Blooms this past weekend in a similar program. It seemed to be the same size to me. The big tip I have is that you cannot hold the steel cup in your teeth like you can a plastic cup. I tried it without thinking and it did not turn out well.

Also, unless they revamp it, I wouldn't trust that velcro holder thing. It didn't stay well. I lost my cup and then luckily ground scored one a few hours later to replace it. If you're not drinking, you should put it away away.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I was wondering about that.. But in all reality, my cup will be full of beer too often to have it hooked to me.

I'm definitely going to buy one Thursday. Last year I waited until Saturday and everywhere I went was sold-out. I don't drink a whole lot in centeroo but it would still be a cool souvenir.
bought 2 last year because I knew I would probably lose one throughout the weekend. Sure enough I did drop the first one and lost it. Good thing I had a backup!

Random tip/metal material tip: Each morning do yourself a favor and rinse it with a little salt and bottled water. It will take some of the metal tinge out the container (if you are a beer snobby snob like me) OR just the sticky aftertaste of day after beer.

It's not to say the regular beer tents have terrible beer. Not nearly as great, but usually palatable.

Time spent in lines at the Brooer's tent is time wasted listening to music and experiencing roo. There's more than enough Sweetwater vendors to keep me happy; and yes I WILL go looking for a Magichat or Sweetwater vendor over buying cheap beer. If I'm particularly in a rush, or someone bought me the beer, I will drink a Bud Lite - but honestly it's been like 3 Roo's since I've even done that. The crater sized holes in my schedule this year are totally to my beer snob requirements tho
