In another direction The Residents covering Hank sr's Jambalaya is pretty magical. They also do an incredibly prison rapey sounding version of Elvis's Jailhouse Rock that's frightening but not as easy on the ears. When they deliver the line "Number 47 said to number 3, your cutest jailbird I ever did see! I sure would be delighted with your company. Come on and do the jail house rock with me LETS ROOOOCK!" it sends chills up my spine every time..Jailhouse rock is a fever dream nightmare of a song if you think about it for minute.
