Just hope for Chance, he played a decent amount of Surf at his headlining set at Hulaween

Welp that Nashville date makes me nervous, I'll definitely have to go to the Columbus show.
Edit- Just to play devil's advocate though, isn't MMW owned by AC Entertainment? Could be a warm up show
Wouldn't that Nashville date a month before the fest rule them out?
Quite possibly. Wasn't really trying to say either way if they'd be there or not; I just figured some people would like to know what they're looking at as far as a tour goes.

I still wouldn't be shocked to see Animal Collective on the Bonnaroo lineup. I do think the dates make it less likely, but don't think it rules them out completely.
It's a strange tour announcement, 14 shows in the US, 2 weeks off, 9 shows in Europe, then back to the States for 10 more shows. Animal Collective tend to do fairly long tours with multiple legs, they're definitely going to have more dates this summer and fall. Who knows, maybe the next leg starts up at Bonnaroo and then continues to other parts of the country.
And Animal Collective fans aren't the type to not see them every chance they get, they're going to buy a ticket to whatever shows they can. There are no casual Animal Collective fans.
Like I said, I don't think them likely at this point, but I don't think the door's completely shut.
Just glad I'm getting the chance to see them at Levitation again this year!

They don't own it but they do book a lot of shows there. In my opinion, I think this rules them out for Bonnaroo but makes them more likely for Forecastle.
I'd just like to take this moment to say Father John Misty was shafted by the Grammies. Only nominated for best box set. Fuck off Grammies.
I'm happy with Courtney getting the nod. I like FJM more, but I just don't see them loving him, and I don't see him loving them. That being said, an acceptance speech from him would be beautiful.
In other FJM news, he's deleted his twitter account and that makes me quite sad

Avey commented on someone's pic on instagram that was complaining about there being no Florida shows and Avey said not to worry that they plan to tour very heavily and that will be announcing alot more dates.

Courtney Barnett was only nominated for Best New Artist, which is kind of a shaft to give her that and then nothing for her actual music.
FJM wouldn't have been eligible for that category, also he can fuck right off.

I wonder if that's part of why Deakin wasn't a part of this album, since he knew the touring that would follow. Think I remember reading something somewhere that the road really grinds him down more than the rest.

Agree about Courtney, but its the Grammys and I look at them like I look at Rolling Stone's "Best Albums" list, where any win, no matter how small, is worth celebrating.

Does Donnie ever do solo shows tho? I think we're a lock for Chance with his new mixtape supposedly coming out this Saturday. Plus he seems to love being on the farm. Ran around with his face covered by a bonnaroo bandana and a squirt gun the day of the Superjam

Looking at the Grammys nomination list never ceases to piss me off, in terms of who gets shafted - and who gets like five fucking undeserved nominations. This year is no different, though I'm happy In Colour made it on there and a few others I figured would get snubbed.

Not sure if Donnie ever does solo sets but if Chance is there it's a lock Donnie is with him and the whole Social Experiment.

Yeah everyone seems very confused on the difference between Chance, Donnie, and the Social Experiment.
The Social Experiment is a band that Chance the Rapper and Donnie Trumpet are both members of. Chance has said that they plan on taking turns working on each members projects, hence Surf, and Chance makes a point of it not being all about him. However, when it comes to shows, they will probably almost always play as Chance the Rapper (sometimes billed "and The Social Experiment"). I know they played as Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment at a secret NYC show in the winter, but it'll be Chance's name on the Bonnaroo lineup because they need to sell tickets

Especially after dropping that single, I am disappointed that there are no Florida dates on their tour. Hopefully we get some adds here. And if not, maybe an excuse to get back to Asheville.

He specifically said there would be at least one show in Florida
