I'd come up north to see Kanye. Was never able to see him. I'm a big fan of the Killer and Beck but have seen both very recently. I'll wait to see how the schedule goes.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
They absolutely nailed rap this year. Kanye, Joey Badass, Bronson, Mac Miller, Big Boi, Vince Staples, Vic Mensa, De La Soul, Miguel (bit of a stretch calling him rap). Very impressed on that end.

Some solid acts. I'm kinda upset because I normally to to Mountain Jam this weekend and would have loved to see some of these acts there. Are there any contractual issues that keep them artists from playing both since they are so close to each other? Probably

Strokes + The Killers are still really disappointing to me, but there is a lot of solid stuff on this lineup. Robyn is a great booking. If Kanye's day has a few things that I haven't caught in the past, I'll definitely get a day pass. Also definitely some great after party potential as always.

It depends, I know last year The Black Keys,Big Gigantic, and Benjamin Booker were at both. So I wouldn't expect a lot of overlap, but it's not out of the question.
So what happened to Sky Ferreira and Phosphorescent? Seems kinda stupid to have a crossword puzzle where you implicitly tease two acts then neither are on the actual lineup.

Lower-billed acts I recommend: Bob Moses - awesome down-tempo electronic Elle King - sassy funky singer-songwriter Thundercat Torres - in the same vein of St. Vincent Bully - epic 90s alt rock sound Meg Mac - Awesome Aussie singer-songwriter, great live performer Black Pistol Fire - loved these guys at Sasquatch and knew nothing about them
As stated before, I've had the chance to see the majority of the acts I'd care to see many times over the last couple of years.
Make the long haul out from Texas to NYC to see them all again? Nuh, bruh.
I don't think the target market for this fest is necessarily people from the midwest who attend several festivals a year.
It caters more to the local music fan, and being in such a huge market they can afford to be diverse in their bookings. Im not gonna argue that this lineup is in anyway unique but it's still very well constructed. As someone mentioned earlier there aren't many "great gets" but there certainly isn't a lot of crap on here either.

Definitely want to hit this up for whatever days Kanye and The Strokes are playing. A lot of the usual stuff that tours around, but its a solid line-up. Excited for stuff like Duke Dumont, De La Soul, Bat For Lashes, and Miguel.
Solid "meh." As others have said, outside of Robyn, De La Soul and maybe Boogie, there's nothing here that hasn't been around. It's a solid lineup, and depending on how the days shake out I may try and grab a pass for whatever day Robyn is playing, but it's not exciting. Definitely not worth traveling for, but I'm sure the local fest kids will like it just fine.
Hopefully Robyn will be closing down the second stage whichever night the Killers headline.
I'm with horn on this. If you don't go to a lot of local concerts or festivals, this is a good way to catch a lot of solid artists. But I counted 34 acts I'm interested in and I've seen 28 of those already. Other than Kanye, there's not a lot of great gets but there aren't a lot of cringe-worthy acts on here either.
Most NYC residents will once again point at how yawn inducing the lineup is. Seen almost everyone on here in the last 36 months in the 5 boroughs. That being said, Kanye.

I mean, MOST acts that tour at all have hit NYC sometime in the last 3 years...
