Sorry I got really sick today and haven't been checking this ish. Yeah of course I'll move from carini at this point, I didnt switch right away cause I wasnt totally sure. But things have moved along sufficiently, I can't believe Tejas was mafia though!
Great - and interesting - game, errybody! Thank you for letting me ref.
The outcome could have been very different if Potent (given name) was one of the first two mafia to be lynched. This has to be the first time Town has won in three days with the Inspector not getting a positive on a guess.

There was one way our strategy was going to be derailed - if the inspector had my name.
I shouldn't pretend like it was a devious plan, it was very improvised, but as we went through we kinda developed a strategy that...well, backfired. It could have paid off big, but...

Was your plan, once the other two were gone, to just speak out actively against both Tejas and Taint and assert your confidence in the fact that they were mafia, so that if the inspector had come out with one of their two names instead of yours, you would thus look like innocent town?
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Basically. We felt good about whacking the people we whacked, thought that they could have been inspector as much as anyone. Like I said before, Slack did a great job of hiding. I voted for both Tejas and Tainted to distance myself from them, and we felt in both cases that each of them would just have to convince everyone else not to vote for them. The Taint one, with you, me, and Slack the open votes (and you and Slack having voted for me previously that day), we knew that if I voted for Taint, you and Slack would vote for Billy. That part worked to perfection - until freaking Carini announced his triumphant return from his one game ban to screw everything up! Great job man.
When it was just me, I thought it was at least 50/50 that we had gotten the inspector, and I was going to have to fight for my life. I figured you and Slack would come out against me, but when Billy came out against Slack immediately we were thrilled. I figured that Carini would side with Billy (and of course I would), so to get rid of Slack I would have had to convince either Miffy or Farris. But I knew that, if we didn't get the inspector, we could be in trouble, and if the inspector had my name, we were downright quacked.
With the inspector not having come out yesterday during the work day, I almost thought about coming out as inspector myself. I was going to say that my given name was either Taint or Tejas, that my first guess was either one of them, and that Farris was my second guess and he is town. I would have guessed Farris in order to curry favor with him and hopefully give us the 4-3 swing to eliminate a townie this day. And I wonder how that would have gone over. I missed the opportunity, obviously, and it would have at least made the last day more interesting. I think I would have whacked Miffy/Farris if I made it through Day 3 (assuming Slack was the lynch).
My first time as mafia, Taint's too, so I'll apologize myself for the short game and not a very good adversary. There were plenty of times where I just couldn't come up with any BS to spew because I knew it wasn't true. Rummy, you noticed that (although I would tell you to look at my gameplay before your first game - in Mafia 76 and 77 I was very quiet the first day and I think got more involved on the second day).
I think our esteemed ref put it best when he said it was an interesting game.
After you and I went back and forth on Day 2, I think I was too preoccupied with making sure the whack didn't draw heat to me so I didn't want to whack you. I was so preoccupied with that, I didn't worry about you being inspector.
At one point during our back and forth, you said something that kind of caught me and I thought whoa...maybe. But then it passed.
Also, I didn't want to say this during the game but your Carlos Martinez article was well-written. I didn't agree with the opinion, and I hate the Cardinals, but I thought you did a great job with it.

You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
