The Independent (UK) fucked Blonde's metacritic score with their 2 out of 5 star rating. They must feel pretty cutting edge and hip to give such a decidedly different score than the other 20 publications. Not that anyone is keeping up with this type of thing...
I kept thinking of The Carpenters' Close to You when I heard Frank's Close to You. I didn't realize he credited the song and made a twisted new remix of it.
I also didn't know so many versions of the song existed (or referenced it). I love Frank's version. Over time it's become one of my favorites. It's short but outstanding.
This has easily made it into AOTY spot for me so far.
Went on vacation and had this on repeat relaxing on the beach/pool/wherever, and oh man, it just grows and grows and now is pretty much all I listen to. The stretch from Solo to Pretty Sweet is easily one of the best of any album I can think of off the top of my head.
I'd never listened to Frank Ocean before I listened to Channel Orange yesterday morning. Shit was awesome. Just finished Blonde and my only complaint is why can't I have more Andre.

I'll keep quiet and let you run your phone bill up. I know you love to talk.
For me right now:
Self Control Ivy Solo Nikes Futura Free Nights Solo (Reprise)/Good Guy/Close to You Pink & White White Ferrari Godspeed Siegfried (This song is intense, and growing on me. But its the only one I'm not always in the mood to listen to.) Skyline To (Has the unfortunate placement of coming before my favorite. So I always feel like I'm waiting for Self Control to start.)

Am I the only person who always skips Facebook Story? I love Blonde but that one track gets under my skin. I mean why doesn't he just add her? Does he have something to hide? What if she wanted to tag him in a picture. If he is so anti-social media in respect to his relationship, why isn't he anti-social media overall (and thus shouldn't even have a FB account??). This track would only make sense if he was not on social media and she was trying to make him create an account. /:-)

Yeah I kinda agree. I still listen to it because I like his accent, but seriously I don't see why he doesn't just add her. I get that he doesn't need to add her since she's right in front of him, but refusing to do so is just kinda obstinate. He might not be cheating but he's probably a dick.

Does anyone know anything about the background track in "Be Yourself" "Facebook Story" and the end of "Futura Free". I feel like I've heard it before somewhere else, is it a sample?

I think it's safe for me to say that Blond has broken into my top 20 albums of all time at this point. There's never been a time when I didn't want to put it on. It's been my default "I don't know what to listen to so I'll just put this on" album ever since it came out.

Same here. It's also weird that I just started listening to this album before seeing this post.
Edit: but I still loathe that Facebook Story track.
