Seems like they are scaling back. If that is the case, hope they at least let the early acts play longer sets to fill up the gaps. Would be nice to get some decent adds though.
When does GV's contract with Hangout expire? I do like the idea of longer sets. There have been a lot of performances I've been too at Roo and Hangout where I was like "that's it?" I know they are on a tight schedule, but the transition times between performers up to the Headliner are a little long in my opinion and a ten minute encore would be cool. Especially if the crowd is really engaged and cheering like crazy for the encore.

"We're going to have access to better acts because of the national prominence that this group has," Craft said. "They have relationships where we're going to be able to bring people here at a level that we've not had here before.
"We've been on the outside looking in at some of these acts, that will change and we'll have the opportunity to have a better festival."
Yeah. Scheduling is a tough thing. Breaks give you time to move to another stage. Then again, they take time from the musician. And then there are the overlaps.

Honestly I'm fine with longer set times and no additions, I'm also fine with the same amount of acts and same time. I really don't want less time and more acts though, last year was a rush already and i already had to leave a bunch of shows early to the next one before the beginning.

I suspect that the earliest sets will be eliminated altogether. We'll probably see start times of 12 or later. Otherwise, the math just doesn't work out.

Had the same thought yesterday. Those 11:30am time slots were pointless, for me at least.
Woohooo, 50 to go, Warpaint Wednesday. I've never seen this group. Maybe in 50 or so days. Enjoy!
Warpaint is an American indie rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2004. The current lineup comprises founders Emily Kokal (vocals, guitar), Theresa Wayman (guitar, vocals) and Jenny Lee Lindberg (bass, vocals), and Stella Mozgawa (drums), who joined the band in 2009. Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante mixed and mastered the band's debut EP, Exquisite Corpse released in 2008. Current RHCP guitarist Josh Klinghoffer performed drums and guitar on the EP in 2007. It was followed by their full-length album, The Fool, in 2010. On December 6, 2010, the BBC announced that Warpaint had been nominated for the BBC's Sound of 2011 poll[3] and they were the cover stars of Beat magazine's Winter 2010 launch issue. (wiki)
Hey jdstultz and djjazzyjoe, us old folks are up early. I was hanging with the early birds before it got hot as hell, grabbing lunch at the restaurant and a great table for one of those 11:30 shows. Some of my favorite shows. I would prefer they ditch some of those hotter than hell mid afternoon shows. That is time to be in the pool, Gulf, or in the shade. I wish they could play morning sets and later evening sets and everybody jump in the pool or Gulf from hot as hell to hot as hell afternoon. Dig? The 11:00 cut off is ridiculous. For three nights, deal with it Gulf Shores.
So krisplettuce and his lovely bride, sparkysarah, mattlikesrock, beachdude, and maybe beachbob are planning on going to this thing. Who else? The more I go through these youtube clips, the more I'm thinking I need to buy a ticket and figure out commuting and parking.
