I went back through the Pre-Party lineup to make sure I didn't miss a nugget of musical talent in there....nope. 100% spinning other folks stuff with a little hey and hoe.
Just kidding. I am looking forward to meeting up with friends around the pool for drinks and just catching up. Maybe breakout the guitar or something easy and agreeable on the Bose.
I would love to see a schedule. I did receive my Sturgill Simpson tickets. The pollen levels in Middle Tennessee are very high. Salty breeze with no pollen would be awesome.
I would be very happy to see Joshua James, RKS, and about half of my folk flavored undercard picks on the Mermaid stage. There are four major stages (main, slut, Palladia, boom boom) and two small (BMI and Mermaid) plus DJ at Malibu correct? How was the BMI last year? Is it standing room only asphalt or butts in the sand or seating within listening distance?
New FB Hangout email says Super VIP sold out and not many GA or VIP left. If you check comments, somebody posted some Hangout tips like Foley Bypass from I-10 and ladies using GA portolets be prepared.

BMI on the beach was a nightmare last year. I tried to go to Revivalists and couldn't hear their set due to soundbleed from mainstage.

Yeah I noticed the same with BMI. If you're close enough it's just fine, way better than being on the concrete. But if the crowd gets too big and ur too far back, the sound issues to start to come up.

how is it worse then years before? when it was on the blacktop wasnt it closer to the mainstage?
I've seen quite a few bands at the BMI-Asphalt stage and never any bleed over. Seems like the Palladia and Main were either not playing or didn't bleed over very bad. Food booths, the grove, bathroom, and other facilities helped shield the sound. But it was hot. There were tables and chairs under the Redbull tent next to it.
Holy shit have Y'all seen the pictures from frye fest? Talk about a total disater.
Yep. They had a young lady on ABC go and she was talking about mass chaos, looting, no water, locked in, performers backing out. Ja Rule was the organizer-promoter I think. Gonna be a lot of lawsuits and/or unhappy people. The hashtag is "dumpster Fyre Festival"

I had the very same experience at Revivalists. I don't recall who was on the main stage, but the sound bleed was awful.
Can I get a count of who would be interested in joining some of us on Thursday at the Island Winds West pool for drinks, music, and just some catching up. Say 5:00 pm til they run us off. This would give the folks who want to hit the Hangout pre-party time to do both.

There was one posted on here around January that had all the details the festival had to give to the city, someone would have to repost it because I have no clue where it would be.

1) Palladia is now AXS. 2) They have hired someone to help them with sound. They have added delay towers. (I believe this was true in 2016) 3) "The festival intends to use a similar layout as 2016" "seven stages" "VIP viewing at two main stages" "There are some adjustments being made to the main stage VIP areas as necessitated by the new city building that overlooks the main stage" "this year we are adding a boardwalk from east to west across the sand to improve crowd flow" "last year, we added barricade shoots from the soundboard to the main stages" (how did that work out? I would think good as far as safety and security but, more prime viewing area gone.) 4) "we increased the number of toilets"... from 470 (2014) to 550 (2017) and "are prepared to add additional bathrooms if necessary". They say over half the toilets are "flushable". 5) They said they increased the number of scanners and checkpoints to improve access thru security, more water stations, more food vendors.

Were there 45,000 people on site last year?
I would assume so. That's their supposed cap and it was packed af last year.
35,000 much better. I think the crowd was less than 10,000 the first year. Again, glad I'm staying next door. If it gets out of hand, I'm going to the pool.

I haven't had the bleedover problems either, Bob. Probably because I've generally been very close to stage. I did like it better in sand than in the frying pan area they had it in in previous years.
Thanks for the vids, Bob. Magic! seems like a great afternoon buzz band. Expect they'll either play 1st on main stage or be sent to the 'Eastern Front' of the Surf Stage, circa 3 PM. I hope they hydrate well.
