I see a lot of love for the killers... just don't get them I guess. Got tickets several months ago to see them at a pretty intimate venue here in AZ and it was terrible IMO. We actually left early, and we are not the leave early type.
I'd kill for LCD on the beach though! Saw them last year at outside lands and was absolutely blown away.
Also seems like a lot of VIP-ers here. Our first year was 2011 (big kahuna). After they jacked those prices up to an unaffordable level we've always gone either VIP or super VIP and are VIP this year. We stay at Phoenix all suites every year right next to the pink pony. It's amazing being able to watch the surf stage from the balcony and go right out the back door of the complex into VIP without having to deal with lines or security. Point being, we are going to have an amazing time no matter what, but it'd be nice to have at least a little info.
I love what this fest used to be and I'm holding on to hope that they will figure out how to get their shit together, but not holding my breath.
On a side note, I'd love to see Tony Clifton make his way back to the beach.

I've always wondering how people booked those suites every year. If we go back next year, thats the way i'm going.

Any idea on things to check out on the way coming from St. Louis? 11 hour drives require pit stops and I would like them to not be gas stations with racial slurs carved into the stalls

the first year we went we hung out with Bill Brett (Brett Robinson) and his wife a lot. They got us grandfathered in and we've been there ever since. Pretty tough to get a place there these days. I think with the exception of a few high dollar travel packages, it's us and the rest of the place is mostly artists, media etc..

Personally The Killers are my favorite band but even I'm shocked at the love cuz usually most people on here don't like them but I'm glad to see them get some love lol. See personally for me I hate no interest in LCD and don't get them but I guess would check them out still. Either way all good and cool to see everyone's different opinions and hoping they pull someone good that most will enjoy.
Eventtrk is saying Kendrick, Drake, LCD, and Childish Gambino. Hope not. Maybe LCD, but I sure hope it is not a rap, hip hop, or DJ selection. I would rather listen to Franz and others on the lineup for two hours. I agree with them that Frank dropping out after people bought tickets to see him is a bummer.

I guess my other reason for not wanting The Killers is that they are headlining a new Festival here in Phoenix called Lost Lake along with Chance and Major Lazer, so it would be nice if the festie gods could throw some variety my way.
Killers were awesome for the first few songs last time they headlined Hangout. We left once the slower tunes came on and headed over to Pretty Lights. Hung out with Beetlejuice. Bring back Pretty Lights! and Beetlejuice!
I enjoyed the Pretty Lights show. Killers were like 5-6 songs awesome and the rest not so much. Tom Petty would be huge for me. Odds are pretty low for him coming back. Hearing KOL Mechanical Bull live would be awesome. Not thrilled with Walls. Again, highly improbable. I'm asking everyone I meet here if they are interested in discounted GA and shuttle. Little to no interest in Hangout. Sturgill's show is the talk of the town. The big story was the expecting mother who went to the show and broke her water. Must have been that reverb.

I can understand that completely too! For me this is my local fest so seeing my favorite band close again would be awesome! Personally was my favorite headlining set but again love the band and was really close. But yeah I love Gorillaz can't wait to see them but don't won't then be replacement like a lot mainly because I've already bought VIP tix to life is Beautiful and selfishly want that to be my first time seeing them haha

Really wanted to see Sturgill bob my best friends were there said his show was amazing! Also would welcome back Tom Petty with open arms another one of my favorite sets! That was like one big sing along on the beach that night
Lol nah no killers thanks. In my head the only acceptable options are
Kendrick Lady Gaga Skrillex Childish Gambino
Calvin Harris J Cole
I'm that order. Wait til next years hangout if you want crossover from acl's Jay-z,killers,rhcp,gorillaz.
Getting excited just thinking about jay/gorillaz in oct.
Kendrick Gaga Gambino of J.Cole I would be very happy with as well! Lucky you're going to ACL pretty pumped for Gorillaz in Vegas with De La Soul Vince Staples Pusha T
I doubt that we'll see a change of musical style if (big IF) there's a replacement. If I bought a ticket for Frank Ocean and ended up with The Killers, I'd be (rightly) upset. It wouldn't make sense to change the demo at this stage. LCD is our best option at this point, imho.
pearl jam or the killers would be awesome. we planned on leaving before franks set anyway because we arent into him but i do feel bad for the people that were excited to see him. pearl jam, tøp, and mumford and sons would be an awesome weekend. never seen PJ or mumford, but this will be my third time seeing tøp and im beyond excited for it- one of the best live acts ive ever seen. hope they release some info soon!

I've seen them twice, and both times awesome shows. Sorry they didn't do it for you. Bummer to waste the money.

I'm surprised you haven't had bites on the ticket and shuttle pass, considering shuttle passes are sold out.
As for the replacement, it could literally be ANYONE at this point. Just give me the dang schedule!

No a killers fan at all but did enjoy their show at hangout when I went in with no expectations. We even left when it got to a cover and walked to PRETTY LIGHTS but left that quickly to go back to killers. That pretty lights guy just looks like he's in a Khole he can't get out.

heroin is actually his drug of choice. I also enjoyed that killers show a lot more than I expected to.
