Maybe the production issue is solely with sasquatches set up? Who knows... people are just running with info from another fest and assuming it applies to hangout because it's before hand.
If that is the case then WTF is taking GV so long with the schedule? The delay has to be due to Frank canceling.
Or it could be that they are handling the schedule like they do the Coachella schedule every year. My lord, y'all are the biggest bunch of assumption making buffoons on this side of the Mississippi

Technicallyyou don't need a schedule til you're at the fest sir

It's not that big of an assumption given the circumstances and reporting? The schedule 'delay' may have nothing to do with Frank, but assuming he is not coming makes sense.

While certainly true, it helps with planning and building excitement. They know that, but it doesn't matter. Buku is our only local festival owned by Goldenvoice, and they released their schedule about 2 1/2 weeks before the festival.
As part of the info in my press kit, I got a list of artists' publicists. Frank Ocean's publicist is still on the list.
*insert "I want to believe" UFO pic*
There are some very interesting ideas that I would like to suggest:
1. I researched how late GV dropped the Coachella schedule, it was like a day before weekend 1. This would explain why the schedule is delayed for HOMF, regardless of FO. 2. FO is still included in the app, publicist still on press kit - this suggests FO is in fact still playing as of today. The app had some notable changes, including map updates, stage designations for main stage, and artist removals. However, before the recent app crash, every artist had dates attached to them (not times), but now only the main stage folks have dates attached. 3. FO was very specific about choosing Hangout to play one of his handful of US dates because "this region streamed my music more than anyone else". Link to article: www.nytimes.com/2016/11/20/arts/music/frank-ocean-blonde-interview.html?_r=0 - This suggests that FO does indeed care about this festival appearance, hence why he hasn't said anything about it being on or off. Exact quote below:
What about the data side, the numbers, the sales?
I know exactly what the numbers are. I need to know. I need to know how many records I’ve sold, how many album equivalents from streaming, which territories are playing my music more than others, because it helps me in conversations about where we’re gonna be playing shows, or where I might open a retail location, like a pop-up store or something.
That being said:
I trust my sources (note the plural) telling me that he's cancelled/there is a situation going on with him and HOMF. One of them told me about the "big artist" replacing him, the other indicated that when they talked to one of their colleagues about the situation, they got laughed at.
FO had to let both HOMF and Sasquatch know at about the same time that he wasn't going to make it, which could have been weeks ago. (It didn't happen before they released the day by day lineups, because FO wouldn't have been on there). The only reason we are drawing the conclusions we are is because of anonymous "industry sources" cited by a Twitter account and a COS reporter saying FO has cancelled.
Basically there are two outcomes: 1. Frank really cancelled/will have to cancel because of production issues, GV planned on announcing the set times later than usual regardless of this happening or not to potentially allow him to get his production in order. Replacement coming tomorrow. 2. Frank is playing, the whole potential "cancel" scenario was whipped up by FO's team/industry insiders to draw even more attention to HOMF (this would be first show in three years, quite a coup for the festival, considering he won't be playing stateside in the immediate future). ensuing attention leads to a full sell out of GA, rise in ticket prices on StubHub, etc.
Does Sasquatch have a smaller stage than Hangout? Still utterly confused on this production issue. Maybe he came up with another 'great' idea like the running legs Grammy performance.

Just got back from cruise down to IWW, Hangout site, and checking my room. The master bedroom in this condo looks like something from a bad horror movie. You can feel the springs by laying your hand in one of the two large depressions. Yes BR gonna get an earful in the morning. On the good side, the pre-party location looks sweet.
The boom boom tent definitely more shifted towards Mermaid stage. The Super VIP has gone on steroids. Concrete, steel, bathhouse, dang looks like the deep pocket folks will be doing 2017 in style. There is a lot of action but, still early.

I may just be a blind fan, but I don't think that's a fair representation of him at least as of what I've seen, I've heard rappers like Kanye, future, and migos say far worst and I really don't think this is that bad either. Even though his track record on concerts does make me mad.
