The second name is apparenrly Big Sam's Funky Nation and they replied that they are in billing order so not much big on a national scale there besides that top name it appears.

Yeah, too low to be them...someone on FB said RAE(don't know them)...other FB's - Leftover Salmon, People's Blues of Richmond, Funk You, Dank, Voodoo Visionary...could that 3rd name be The Oh Sees?
Nahko vs. Franti (partially) seems dumb as they are the same type of bands. Roots vs. AWOLNATION is a conflict for my group. Overall about what I expected.

I still hate to buy tickets to a fest with Kid Rock and Bastille closing out two of the three nights unopposed. I do like a lot of the undercard though. We're going still though as long as the girlfriend can make it (she will be about 8 months pregnant then so it is a crap shoot).
Well I am out on this. Sucks that all my festivals are falling through this year or are inconvenient times with the baby. Girlfriend got a new job and they told her this would be her busy weekend and wouldn't be able to take off (she runs a theater ticking department and they have their biggest how of the year this weekend). If anyone is looking for a hotel I can probably transfer mine to you for cheap.

Yeah, this would have been about five and a half weeks prior to the due date which is why we both were pushing for it. She'd had no issues and doctor said we were good to go. It is probably the only fest we could do together this year until September/October if at all. Work made the decision for us though.
Sweetwater 420 Fest will host a slew of pre and after parties for the festival, slated for later in April. To start, The Disco Biscuits will play a pair of shows on April 21 and 22 at Terminal West in Atlanta.
The first show will go on sale March 18 at 10 AM while the second show will require a Sweetwater 420 wristband and late night show ticket, all of which are available to purchase here.
Also on April 22, Questlove will host an afterparty at The Loft alongside xavierBLK, with Funk You & Special Guests playing AISLE 5 that night as well. On April 23, The Heavy Pets will bring their Beatles tribute set to AISLE 5 and Leftover Salmon will play the Variety Playhouse alongside Ripe on that night as well.
I ended up only going for a few hours on Sunday before heading to the Tab for Bush. Saw Manchester Orchestra, Atmosphere, some of Franti and Luda. It was pretty sparsely attended and both Manchester and Atmosphere bitched about the crowd not being into it. Unsurprising, since Andy, lead singer of Manchester is from here and well known as a dick around here. He made a joke about trying to play a jam song. HAHA HILARIOUS.
I'm curious to see what they do next year since ticket sales must've been terrible since it was on multiple deal sites and was empty. I don't know how crowded it was Fri or Sat though.
We had a great time at the festival. Went all three days, came from Nashville. Saturday was the most crowded of all the days. The crowd was good and I thought it was well run. For a city festival the vibe was good, police and security were friendly and not intrusive to people at all. One officer was totally jamming along to Ludacris and having a great time up front. Food lines weren't too bad at all. Draft beer selections were the best and most diverse (all sweetwater obviously) of any festival. The community and charity organizations were in the middle near the vendors and food trucks, so that probably helped them get some foot traffic. I would definitely attend again.
Yep, good time here as well. Saw a little lucero>zoogma>cypress hill>biscuits on friday. I enjoyed cypress hill a lot more than i thought i would. Sat went Maceo>Dawes>Word>rebelution>roots..everybody was good. Sun was leftover>people's blues>manchester o>nahko, (van morrison @ vzw) So i was just back and forth between the two larger stages, and it was nice and easy. I took my son on sunday and stayed further back and there was some sound bleed. I enjoyed every show i listed with people's blues and nahko being least favorite. My buddy stayed for kid rock and said it was packed. He also was planning to leave during ben harper, but got sucked in and said it was great.
Cops were around and were not actively looking for anything. Didn't see anyone in trouble, plenty of bud. It's been a very chill festival as far as that goes. Last year when Snoop was on it was basically everywhere. This fest and the police there are kind of how it should be imo, they're there but not looking to cause trouble unless people are being dicks. Haven't seen any arrests here in a few years and the security is lax. Nothing like Hangout has been.
